'Politics and Policy in the Trump Presidency'

The Department of Political Science holds a town hall in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 1201. This is an opportunity for students to ask questions and for political science faculty to present analysis of the political and policy issues surrounding the Trump presidency. The event will be moderated by professor Ravi Perry and will feature professors Deirdre Condit, John Froitzheim and Bill Newmann.
Sexual Assault Panel

The NAACP at VCU presents a discussion panel in the University Student Commons, Virginia Room B. Individuals are welcome to attend and learn about sexual assault as well as discuss concerns, current issues and reoccurring problems they have experienced. For details, email naacpvcu@gmail.com

VCU Libraries, in concert with the School of the Arts, again presents a series for 2017 on the nuances of copyright for artists, designers and art scholars with Madelyn Wessel, university counsel. The two workshops will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, at noon in Cabell Library, Room 303, and on Friday, March 24, at noon in Cabell Library, Room 303. VCUarts 'Visiting Artist Lecture': Roberto Lugo
Friday, Feb. 3, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
VCUarts presents its "Visiting Artist Lecture" featuring Roberto Lugo, an American potter, social activist, spoken word poet and educator, in the Commons Theater. Lugo's work draws together hip-hop, history and politics into formal ceramics and 2D works. Born in Philadelphia to Puerto Rican parents, Lugo began his career as a graffiti artist before discovering ceramics.

Chili’s at VCU: Official Men’s Basketball Away Game Watch Parties
Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at 4 p.m.
This February, Chili's at VCU hosts the official Men's Basketball game watch parties. The complete schedule is Saturday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m. versus Bonaventure; Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 9 p.m. versus George Washington; Friday, Feb. 17, at 9 p.m. versus University of Richmond; and Saturday, Feb. 25, TBA versus Rhode Island. Fans can catch the HAVOC on each of Chilis' nine TVs and take advantage of specials like the $5 game-day burger. Attendees are encouraged to wear VCU gear for free giveaways and prizes. Follow Up to the President’s Forum on Social Justice and Spring Climate Survey

The Office of the President and the Division for Inclusive Excellence present and discuss the feedback from the fall Presidential Forum on Social Justice, as well as the findings from the 2016 survey on campus climate. The first presentation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Egyptian Building, Baruch Auditorium. The second presentation will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the Commons Theater.
'Wrap It Up: Get Smart With Your Heart About Relationships'

The Center for Cultural Experiences in Prevention in partnership with Raise 5 present "Wrap It Up: Get Smart with Your Heart About Relationships" in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 1107. The 10th Annual VCU Health Wellness Block Party

VCU Rec Sports: Small Group Training February Overview
VCU Recreational Sports offers small group training, which includes 5-13 exercisers in 4-8 week training programs. Registration for the following programs ends on Friday, Feb. 3: women on weights; beginner and intermediate Olympic-style weightlifting; Taekwondo; functional fitness training. In these courses, participants will set goals, improve skills and measure progress. Fees vary. The full spring 2017 schedule is available at the website below.

Open Science Sessions Teach Tactics in Transparency
VCU Libraries hosts two free workshops on Tuesday, Feb. 7, by the Center for Open Science to teach easy, practical steps to increase the reliability of research projects. The morning session will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Cabell Library. The afternoon session will held from 1-4 p.m. at Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences. 'Give it a Tri!': VCU Rec Sports Triathlon Training Program
Rec Sports offers the Tri-Training program, a fitness incentive program where each participant's goal is to complete a triathlon over the course of five weeks. Participants will work at their own pace and track progress through mileage accumulated during individual workouts, classes and lessons. Free options for Tri-Training includes U.S. Masters swim practices, weekly workouts on the pool deck and indoor cycling classes. No previous triathlon experience is necessary.
