Students Helping Honduras Thrift Shop
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Students Helping Honduras at VCU holds a thrift shop fundraiser on the Commons Plaza. Gently used clothing, books and other items will be available for purchase. All proceeds will go directly to building a school in Honduras.
'Chemical Approaches for Characterizing Protein Glutathionylation'
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The Institute for Structural Biology, Drug Discovery and Development presents a seminar as part of its spring seminar series featuring Young-Hoon Ahn, Ph.D., assistant professor, Division of Chemistry, Wayne State University, in Larrick Student Center, Jackson Ward Conference Room. Refreshments will be served prior to the seminar.

'Meet VCU's Authors': Tressie Cottom

The Humanities Research Center and VCU Libraries presents Tressie Cottom, VCU Sociology, as part of the "Meet VCU's Authors" series in Cabell Library, Room 250. Cottom will be speaking about her new book, "Lower Ed: The Troubling Rise of For-Profit Colleges in the New Economy." Admission is free and all are welcome.

The Student Leadership and Involvement Center sponsors a volunteer service trip to FeedMore, 1415 Rhoadmiller St. The group will be packaging and sorting food at the Richmond-area food bank. Angela Davis Lecture: Live Stream Tickets

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs presents Angela Davis, an activist on behalf of women's rights, racial justice and prisoners' rights since the 1960s, delivering a lecture in the University Student Commons, Commonwealth Ballroom. Davis will address the current racial, political and economic climate, in addition to her own perspective as an activist and scholar. Tickets for the in-person lecture are completely sold out, but tickets are available to attend a live stream of her lecture in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 1107. Live stream tickets are free and are available in the OMSA office, University Student Commons, Suite 215, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Engage, The Foundation, ESPN/KLG Gaming and Lounge/Sideline Sport Report present a study break gaming tournament at the KLG Gamer Lounge, 616 E. Franklin St. Participants will enjoy a quick study break and play NBA2K, Madden and Call of Duty. Winner will get bragging rights and a prize. Entry is $5. Limited to 15 slots per weekend.

'Leading and Living Unscripted'

The Office of Continuing and Professional Education presents "Leading and Living Unscripted," which combines elements of improvisational theater and behavior modification, at The CTC at Hull, 13900 Hull Street Rd., Midlothian. This workshop teaches experimental, action methods that can be used to enrich the way participants teach, parent, lead and manage. Participants can unlock creativity and practice and reinforce new skills on how to lead and be a better partner in an unscripted, safe environment.

'Oh the Places You'll Go: A Black Student's Guide to Study Abroad'

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated presents "Oh the Places You'll Go: A Black Student's Guide to Study Abroad" in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Participants will learn about the experiences of black students who have gone abroad, as well as how to go abroad yourself.
'Dodging Cancer'
Saturday, Mar. 25, 2017 from noon to 5 p.m.
Theta Chi Fraternity partners with the American Cancer Society to present "Dodging Cancer," a dodgeball tournament to help fight cancer, at the Cary Street Gym. Proceeds from the tournament will go to the American Cancer Society to support cancer patients. Registration for teams will be held from March 1-23 in the University Student Commons.

BOV Student Representative Applications Extended
The Division of Student Affairs has extended the deadline for applications to serve as the 2017-2018 Board of Visitors Student Representative through Friday, March 3. The president will recommend one graduate/professional student and one undergraduate to serve as either the student representative or the alternate. Open Applications for the Allied Health Career Exploration Program
The Allied Health Career Exploration is a two-week, non-residential program designed to expose students to the diverse professional programs available at the VCU School of Allied Health Professions, such as patient counseling, clinical laboratory sciences, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nurse anesthesia, rehabilitation counseling, radiation sciences, health administration and gerontology, through hands-on activities and workshops. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 3.
