Minority Health Conference Lecture Webcast

Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences hosts a webcast of the UNC Minority Health Conference William T. Small, Jr. keynote in Room 2010. The theme for the conference is "Systems of Power: Recalling Our Past, Restructuring Our Future." The webcast will stream the recorded keynote address by Chandra Ford, Ph.D., followed by a live question-and-answer session with the keynote speaker.

The School of World Studies Religious Studies Program presents "Under the Hijab and the Kippah: Muslims and Jews in a Divided America," a Religious Studies faculty panel discussion, in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 2201. The panel will feature Samaneh Oladi, assistant professor of Islam; David Weinfeld, assistant professor of Judaic Studies; and Jon Waybright, instructor and School of World Studies director of internships.

The National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice and Eta Lambda Sigma Fraternity presents an open discussion, "What's Next?: The Trump Effect," in Harris Hall, Room 2126. This event is intended to create a safe and open environment to discuss opinions and concerns about the events taking place during Trump's administration. Immigration, the economy, education, law enforcement, health insurance (Affordable Care Act) and other related topics will be discussed.

This annual meeting of the Virginia Latino Higher Education Network highlights the issues affecting Hispanic/Latino communities and fosters conversations on important educational issues. Commonwealth of Virginia Alzheimer's Grant: Applications Accepted
The VCU Virginia Center on Aging accepts grant applications through Monday, April 3, for the Alzheimer's and Related Diseases Research Award Fund. Applications must be affiliated with colleges or universities, research institutes or other not-for-profit organizations located in Virginia. Awards are limited for $45,000 each. A non-binding letter of intent is required by Friday, March 10. Application forms, guidelines and further information about preparing the letter of intent are available by visiting the website below.
