The Anthropology Program in the School of World Studies hosts its Spring 2017 Anthropology Speaker Series featuring Amy Rector Verrelli, Ph.D., assistant professor of anthropology, discussing "Reconstructing Hominin Paleoenvironments: How Did We Become Human?" in the Commons Theater. The School of World Studies Italian Program invites the VCU community to a viewing of director Francesco Rosi's "Le mani sulla citta" in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 1100. There will be a brief introduction to Rosi and the film by Sydney Conrad, Ph.D., followed by an informal discussion after the film. Free and open to the public.

Chi Alpha holds its second annual giant jenga tournament with an even bigger purpose in Harris Hall, Room 2129. Teams of three or four will compete for prizes and a chance to feed kids all over the world. The cost is $5 per person and all proceeds will go to FeedOne. Payments by card only accepted on location. Canned goods/non-perishable foods will also be collected for RamPantry.

The Center for Sport Leadership program works with Sportable to host the VCU Paralympic Experience Day at the Siegel Center. This event is open to the public and the mission is to bring in a brand-new consumer to the Sportable organization.

The Japanese Student Association seeks volunteers for the RVA Cherry Blossom Festival held on Sunday, March 26, on the Commons Plaza. The festival will have several cultural performances, food and activities such as calligraphy and origami.
