Project Sunshine: Final 'Sending Sunshine' Event
1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Project Sunshine at VCU holds a "Sending Sunshine" event in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Participants will put together surgi dolls that will be sent to children facing medical challenges in hospitals nationwide. Putting together the dolls is simple - cut, stitch, stuff and stitch close.
VCU Small Jazz Ensembles in Concert
8 p.m.
VCU Small Jazz Ensembles perform in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. There will be six combos and music by Ron Carter, Tadd Dameron, Freddie Hubbard, J.J. Johnson, Pat Metheny, Cole Porter, Sonny Rollins, Mongo Santamaria, John Scofield, Wayne Shorter, Kenny Wheeler and VCU students. Admission is free.

'Paws for Stress'
Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
University Counseling Services and The Center for Human-Animal Interaction present "Paws for Stress" in the University Student Commons, Virginia Rooms A-D. Participants can play with certified therapy dogs from the Center for Human-Animal Interaction as a way to unwind from semester stress.

VCUDine Midnight Breakfast
Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
VCUDine and the Student Government Association hold a "Glow-in-the-Dark Midnight Breakfast" at the Shafer Court Dining Center. Attendees can load up on favorite breakfast foods and enter an ice cream eating contest for a chance to win one of two pairs of Beats™ headphones. Free admission vouchers from the SGA will be available for the first 689 guests who do not have a dining plan. Vouchers will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis starting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, at Shafer Court Dining Center.

Collaboration Services holds an open forum on "What's New with Google's G Suite," sponsored by Application Services, in Sanger Hall, Room B1-020. VCU Greater Richmond High School Jazz Band in Concert
Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1 p.m.
The VCU Greater Richmond High School Jazz Band performs under the direction of Profs. Antonio Garcia and Steven Cunningham in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. The concert will include music by Dizzy Gillespie, Herman Hupfeld, Bennie Moten, Oliver Nelson, Sammy Nestico, Nat Pierce, George Wallington and Earth, Wind and Fire. Admission is free.
VCU Rec Sports: 'Family Water Safety Fest'
Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 10 a.m. to noon
VCU Rec Sports hosts its first "Family Water Safety Fest" at the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center. Families and attendees should wear swimsuits for a day of water, fun and safety. The event is free and open to the community.

Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology Research Study
The Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology at VCU Medical Center is conducting a research study to determine how a treatment for allergies affects certain immune cells called mast cells and basophils. Healthy volunteers are requested. The study will require participation for about 2 months, with up to 3 visits to our clinic. Volunteers will be compensated for their participation. Volunteers will be eligible if they are healthy adults between 18 and 65 years old and have seasonal allergy symptoms. Volunteers will not be eligible if they are currently receiving allergy shots, have certain medical conditions, or if they or their partner are pregnant.
