'Researcher-Practitioner Partnerships in Education: Promises and Challenges'

The School of Education presents Catherine Snow's "Researcher-Practitioner Partnerships in Education: Promises and Challenges," as part of the annual Oehler lecture series. A research session will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. in Oliver Hall, Room 4084B, followed by the lecture from 4-6:30 p.m. in the Sports Medicine Building, First Floor Parlor.
SEM Presents: 'Financial Aid 101'

The Division of Strategic Enrollment Management presents "Financial Aid 101" in the University Student Commons, Forum Room, for attendees to learn about the fundamentals of the financial aid process. Marc Vernon, executive director of financial aid, will share information about applying, qualifying, calculating and maintaining financial aid.
'Digital Pragmata' Series Explores the Marriage of Data Visualization with Animation and Motion Graphics
Thursday, Mar. 30, 2017 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
VCU Libraries presents its final installment of the "Digital Pragmata" series which will examine how animation and motion graphics can be used to visualize and explain data in Cabell Library, Lecture Hall. Speakers from the sciences and arts include Whitney Beer-Kerr, science producer at Pixeldust Studios; Donna Desmet, medical illustrator and animator; and Josh Gunn, founder of Planet Nutshell. Graduate Student Research Symposium and Exhibit

Each spring, the Graduate Student Association sponsors a research symposium to present graduate research work to the university and Richmond community in the University Student Commons, Commonwealth Ballroom. The event is an excellent opportunity for graduate students from all disciplines to present their original research and creative projects to faculty, staff, students and community members. Participation in this event has nearly doubled every year and all are welcome to attend.

Time to Order Regalia for May Commencement
Virginia Commonwealth University's May Commencement exercises take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, at the Richmond Coliseum, 601 E. Leigh St. Faculty participating in the ceremony will wear academic apparel. Regalia must be ordered by Friday, April 14.

Young Aces Open: Volunteers Needed
The Mary and Frances Youth Center seeks volunteers to help with its annual event, Young Aces Open, on Thursday, April 27. Young Aces Open serves more than 200 4th and 5th graders from Richmond Public Schools and provides an opportunity to students to showcase tennis skills in the largest tournament of its kind in the world. Volunteers will welcome participants, serve as court monitors, facilitate fun activity stations and assist with event management logistics.

Policy Open for Public Comment: Accessibility and Reasonable Accommodation for Individuals with Disabilities
The Accessibility and Reasonable Accommodation for Individuals with Disabilities policy is now open for university comment through Friday, April 7. The policy has been revised to include a grievance procedure for student complaints regarding accommodation or accessibility.
