Survivor Solidarity Hour at The Wellness Resource Center

The Wellness Resource Center presents Survivor Solidarity Hour at The Well's Recovery Clubhouse. Survivor Solidarity Hour is a weekly, year-round program, held every Tuesday, where survivors of violence and allies can come together, meet and hang out in a safe space. This is not a therapeutic group but rather a causal, supportive space. Students can engage in activities from coloring, to playing games, to engaging in conversation.

Cabell Library Opens Late Tuesday, May 16

The Safe Zone Program, sponsored by University Counseling Services, presents a two-hour Safe Zone Workshop in the University Student Commons. The purpose of Safe Zone is to raise awareness of LGBTQ issues and their importance to everyone and to make VCU a more welcoming and inclusive environment. 'Real Life Film Series: Handmaidens and Battleaxes: The Real Story of Nursing'

Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences and University Student Commons and Activities host a film screening of "Handmaidens and Battleaxes: The Real Story of Nursing" in the Hunton Student Center, TML Learning Center, Room 209. This global picture of nursing, using Australia as a case study, uses rare archival footage, dramatic re-enactments, interviews and photographs from nursing colleges worldwide. Following the screening, engaging discussion will be led by Jodi Koste, archivist.

The Friends of VCU Libraries debuts a new "friendraiser" event, a weekend tasting luncheon with speaker Clare Schapiro, author of "Stories and Recipes from Clare's Kitchen," in Cabell Library, Lecture Hall, Room 303. If not a member of Friends of VCU Libraries, new friends can join at a reduced $50 membership fee, attend the luncheon and receive a complimentary copy of the book as a thank you. If not interested in attending the event, new members can still join at the half-priced rate through Tuesday, May 23.

Keynote speakers include Tiffany Jana, chief executive officer of TMI Consulting and author of "Overcoming Bias: Building Authentic Relationships Across Difference," and Andres T. The talk is tied to the National Library of Medicine exhibit, "For All the People: A Century of Citizen Action in Health Care." Final Grading for Spring 2017
Grading for spring 2017 has begun. Grade sheets are available on faculty eServices. Grades are due by noon on Tuesday May 16; at which time grading will be turned off. Faculty may only access grade sheets for courses to which they have been assigned in the Class Schedule. If you do not see one of your grade sheets, contact your department's course scheduling representative.
Va-LEND Accepting Applications for the 2017-2018 Training Cohort

Faculty/Staff Summer Golf League
VCU Recreational Sports offers the Faculty/Staff Summer Golf League. The 10-week league will be held at The Crossings Golf Club, 800 Virginia Center Parkway, Glen Allen, 23059, on Tuesday evenings at 5 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, May 23.
