SAVES (Students Advocating Violence Education and Support) presents a night of performance pieces in the name of advocacy in the University Student Commons Theater. In this talk based on his manuscript, "Memoirs of Mass Incarceration: The Rhetoric of Revolutionaries, Witnesses and Survivors," David Coogan, VCU associate professor of English, tells the story of the rise of mass incarceration in America through memoirs and witnesses. VCU Libraries hosts this free talk in Cabell Library, Room 250.

The School of Engineering presents its Capstone Design Expo at the Siegel Center. The event allows undergraduate engineering students the chance to share capstone projects with the greater Richmond community and to increase the awareness of the engineering profession among middle and high school students. Held in April, the annual event offers capstone design teams the opportunity to display and demonstrate their prototypes, which are the culmination of eight months of effort. More than 90 students will participate in this year's expo.

The Outdoor Adventure Program offers a weekend bike tour trip through Eastern Virginia from April 29-30. The group will be riding at an easy pace each day and camping each night. The Robertson School of Media and Culture presents "Global Health and Social Media," an intensive special topics seminar conducted asynchronously online through Thursday, June 22. By enrolling through the VCU Office of Continuing and Professional Education, community participants will explore the theory and practice of social media campaigns for global health issues, alongside VCU undergraduate students.
