As a central structure to this kind of transdisciplinary inquiry, design thinking offers an iterative methodology that emphasizes process in exploring solutions to an inquiry. Design thinking is not a singular approach to design. Rather, design thinking references problem solving that takes a cyclical pathway through stages of discovery, interpretation, ideation, experimentation and evolution. Project work encountering wicked problems will be reviewed to discuss the role of artists and designers engaging in the complexity of contemporary life.
