VCU Police, The Wellness Resource Center and the Central Virginia Start By Believing Task Force hold a scavenger hunt at Larrick Student Center to spread the word about sexual assault awareness and the Start By Believing Campaign. Participants will meet with various VCU and community resources available in regards to sexual assault awareness and learn how to "Start By Believing" by signing the pledge. There will be giveaways. To be entered to win the grand prize, participants can visit with all of the community partners.

The Health Science Club hosts an event in the University Student Commons, Commonwealth Ballroom, featuring guest speakers, food and education in recognition of the 2017 World Health Organization's "World Health Day" campaign, "Depression: Let's Talk." The Department of Craft/Material Studies and VCUarts Inclusion Infusion Initiative presents the first of two "Crochet Jams" with artist Ramekon O'Arwisters at The Depot. Ramekon O’Arwisters is a San Francisco-based social-practice artist who creates community-based art projects infused with folk-art traditions. During his "Crochet Jams," participants become physically connected with one another through the processes of making yarn from used clothing and crocheting a giant textile.

The Division for Inclusive Excellence has established the new VCU Student Social Justice Fund. Teams of students, with support of a faculty or staff mentor, will submit proposals for creative and new solutions to challenges facing our campus, local, national or international communities. Up to four proposals will each receive awards of $2,500 to implement their innovative solutions during summer and fall 2017.
