'Market Marronage: Enslaved Women and the Informal Economy in Nineteenth Century Jamaica'

The Alexandrian Society with the support of the Department of History hosts Shauna Sweeney, Ph.D., New York University, and postdoctorate fellow, College of William and Mary, discussing female maroons engaging in trade in nineteenth-century Jamaica in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Participants will put together surgi dolls that will be sent to children facing medical challenges in hospitals nationwide. Putting together the dolls is simple - cut, stitch, stuff and stitch close.
