Strategic Enrollment Management and University Academic Advising present "Advising - More than Course Registration" featuring Maggie Tolan, Ed.D., in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Tolan will share details about new initiatives being offered across the VCU advising community. Attendees will learn how advisors work with students to help develop strategic plans that ultimately will make them the best and most-competitive graduates of the university.

CLS Class of 2018 at VCU presents "VISIT THE LAB" on the Commons Plaza. Participants will learn more about hands-on techniques that lab scientists conduct.

Christ Centered Fellowship invites the VCU community to "Essential Healing" in the University Student Commons, Alumni Board Room, to learn about essential oils as a means to a healthy and clean lifestyle during classes and finals.

Heart Healthy Food Drive to Benefit Health Brigade
Tuesday, Apr. 25, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Focused Inquiry Service-Learning students are collecting heart healthy non-perishable food items and monetary donations to benefit their community partner, the Health Brigade Food Farmacy. Collections will be held on the Compass Tuesday, April 25, through Thursday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
'The Pop Up Shop' Featuring David Banner
Thursday, Apr. 27, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs presents "The Pop Up Shop" featuring American rapper, record producer, actor and activist David Banner in the University Student Commons Theater. Tickets are required for this event and are available free of charge in the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, Commons Suite 215.
VCU Sociology: Silvia Federici Talk

VCU Sociology hosts activist-scholar Silvia Federici for a talk about feminism and capitalism in this time of widespread protest and organizing at The Depot. New members will also be inducted into the AKD sociology honors society. A reception will follow.
VCU Opera Presents Puccini's Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi

The VCU Opera and VCU Opera Orchestra present a special "double feature" of Giacomo Puccini’s one-act operas Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi on Friday, April 28, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 30, at 4 p.m. in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. VCU Small Jazz Ensembles in Concert

VCU Small Jazz Ensembles perform in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. There will be six combos and music by Ron Carter, Tadd Dameron, Freddie Hubbard, J.J. 'PCORI Funding to Address Community-Identified Needs'

The Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research and the Center on Society and Health host a seminar for researchers and community partners interested in patient-centered outcomes research in the Larrick Student Center, Court End Ballroom. Emily Zimmerman, Ph.D., Center on Society and Health, will discuss a new method to engage stakeholders in developing community-identified research questions and present research agendas for diabetes, hypertension and lung cancer. Summer Study Abroad Program: Midwifery and Health in Guatemala
The VCU Institute for Women's Health and Highland Support Project spend a week, July 22-29, in partnership with indigenous midwives and community leaders learning about traditional Maya medicine and exploring the history of healthcare and healing in Guatemala. The group will learn about traditional medicine and midwifery practices. The cost is $985 plus airfare. The application deadline is Saturday, May 20.
