Zero Waste Earth Day Picnic
12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Eat Green and the Office of Sustainability host a "Zero-Waste Earth Day Picnic" on the Sahara Lawn, across from Chipotle on Grace St. Over 15 local organizations focused on health, efficiency and sustainability will be in attendance. There will be free food, infused water, T-shirts for the first 50 attendees and giveaways.
Muslim Student Association Picnic 2017
2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Muslim Students Association invites the VCU community to its 2017 end-of-the-year picnic at Bryan Park, 4308 Hermitage Rd.
'What We Do Is Secret'
5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Organization of Photographic Arts, VCUarts, Photo+Film and Kinetic Imaging present "What We Do Is Secret," the candidacy exhibition for Photo+Film and Kinetic Imaging, at 1130 Gordon Ave., Warehouse #4. The exhibition will feature graduate artists: Travis Austin, Johannes James Barfield, Greyory Blake, Stephanie Dowda, Trish Gibson, Brian Charles Patterson and Micah Hunter Weber.
GDES MFA Candidacy Exhibition
5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Department of Graphic Design presents the MFA Candidacy Exhibition at The Branch Museum of Architecture and Design, 2501 Monument Ave. This exhibition shows work of first-year MFA students Junyun CHen, Tara Pairoj-Boriboon, Minjee Jeon, Stephen Parks and Drew Sisk.

'Communism Then And Now'
6 p.m.
Students for Liberty, Liberate RVA and Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation present Guy Burnett, Ph.D., assistant professor of government and foreign affairs, Hampden-Sydney College, lecturing on "Communism Then and Now" in the T. Edward Temple Building, Room 1160. No tickets required. Free pizza and drinks will be provided for attendees.

Peace Fair
Sunday, Apr. 23, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Episcopal Campus Ministry at VCU hosts a Peace Fair featuring different religious and cultural organizations in the N. Cherry St. parking lot of Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 8 N. Laurel St. Groups will set up information tables and activities to express what peace means to them.
Ethiopian Student Union Culture Show
Sunday, Apr. 23, 2017 at 5 p.m.
The Ethiopian Student Union hosts a cultural show in the University Student Commons, Commonwealth Ballroom, with members showcasing Ethiopian culture through a skit, fashion show and dance performances from several tribes in Ethiopia. Admission and food are free.

Denim Day
Students Advocating for Violence Education and Support (SAVES) presents Denim Day on Wednesday, April 26, on both campuses and encourages the VCU community to wear jeans on campus in solidarity to stand against victim-blaming. SAVES will have tables set up the week before Denim Day in residence halls for a jean drive where students may donate jeans. Tables will also be set up on Monday, April 24, and Tuesday, April 25, on the Compass for students to write on jeans with messages to survivors.
VCU Rec Sports: Lifeguard Certification
VCU Rec Sports offers a Lifeguard Certification course from May 15-19. At the completion of the course, participants will receive American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid/Oxygen certifications, valid for two years. The course is open for students, members and non-members of VCU Rec Sports who are over the age of 15.
