VCUDine: Cinco de Mayo
Friday, May 5, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
VCUDine offers an authentic, Cinco de Mayo-themed lunch in Shafer Court Dining Center's Market 810. Attendees can dig into a plate full of chocolate mole chicken drumsticks, Mexican rice, pork quesadillas or Tijuana tacos, and load up on toppings at Stir Crazy's nacho bar, or treat yourself to the upper-cut of the day: Carne Asada served with fajita vegetables, Mexican rice and guacamole. Top-off the meal with cinnamon-sugar churros or slice of Mexican chocolate spiced cake for dessert.

Third Annual Student Excellence in Interprofessionalism Recognition Ceremony
Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 4 p.m.
The Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Care recognizes students who demonstrated significant involvement and promotion of interprofessional activities in the W. Baxter Perkinson Jr. Building, Third Floor, Brown Conference Room 3114. Colleagues, students, faculty, friends and family are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.

Reminder: Open Enrollment for Faculty and Staff Health Coverage and Flexible Spending Continues Through May 15
Open enrollment for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s health coverage and flexible spending plans takes place from May 1 – May 15. Eligible university faculty and classified staff may enroll in flexible spending accounts and/or make changes to health coverage elections for the plan year that begins July 1, 2017. No action is required to maintain current health coverage elections for the upcoming plan year, but enrollment is required to begin or continue participation in flexible spending. COVA Care and COVA HealthAware participants can qualify for premium rewards for the upcoming plan year by completing a new or updated health assessment. Opportunities for Summer Volunteer Service Offered through ASPiRE
VCU ASPiRE offers opportunities for faculty and staff to use community service leave this summer with partners like FeedMore and Habitat for Humanity. VCU ASPiRE will do all of the heavy lifting, including transportation, coordinating logistics with the community partner and facilitating a debrief session following the service experience.
