Survivor Solidarity Hour
12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Wellness Resource Center presents "Survivor Solidarity Hour" at The Well's Recovery Clubhouse. Survivor Solidarity Hour is a weekly, year-round program, held every Tuesday, where survivors of violence and allies can come together, meet and hang out in a safe space. This is not a therapeutic group but rather a casual, supportive space. Students can engage in activities from coloring, to playing games, to engaging in conversation.

VCU Community Health Education Center: Mindfulness Meditation Sessions
Friday, Jun. 16, 2017 from noon to 1 p.m.
The VCU Community Health Education Center hosts 30-minute mindfulness meditation sessions every Wednesday and Friday at noon and 12:30 p.m. at the center, VCU Medical Center, Gateway Building, Ground Floor. The sessions will be led by Georgianne Ginder, VCU Department of Arts in Healthcare. Participants can relax and reduce stress with this healthy practice. Space is limited. OAP Weekend Backpacking Trip
Saturday, Jun. 24, 2017 at 8 a.m.
The Outdoor Adventure Program offers a weekend hiking and camping through the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western Virginia from June 24-25. The cost for students will be $44 and $50 for VCU Rec Sports members. This price includes food, transportation, equipment and guides. Register online or in-person at the Outing Rental Center by Tuesday, June 20.

Faculty and Staff in VRS Hybrid Plan: June 15 Deadline is Approaching for Voluntary Contribution Changes
Virginia Retirement System Hybrid Plan participants can change voluntary contributions once per calendar quarter. Thursday, June 15 is the election deadline for changes to become effective in July. Participants can voluntarily contribute up to 4% of their creditable salary to the defined contribution component of the Hybrid Plan, and receive up to a 2.5% employer match.

VCU ASPiRE offers opportunities for faculty and staff to use community service leave this summer with partners like FeedMore and Habitat for Humanity. VCU ASPiRE will do all of the heavy lifting, including transportation, coordinating logistics with the community partner and facilitating a debrief session following the service experience. Call for Abstracts: 'Patients and Practitioners: Partnering for Health'
The VCU Langston Center for Quality, Safety and Innovation hosts "Patients and Practitioners: Partnering for Health" on Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Kontos Medical Sciences Building. Mike Rhoades Basketball Camps
VCU Men's Basketball coach, Mike Rhoades, hosts three skill development basketball camps at the Siegel Center. Sessions one and two will run from June 19-23 and June 26-30, and are for rising 2nd-12th graders. The cost is $300 per session. Now Recruiting for TEENS+ Weight Management Program
Are you concerned about your teen’s weight? We can help! TEENS+ is a 4-month family-based lifestyle intervention at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU for overweight teens ages 12 to 16. The program includes weekly group classes for teens and parents that cover topics such as healthy eating, physical activity and goal-setting. Teens also have access to a gym with personal trainers.
