NAEA @ VCU Welcome Back Party
Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The National Art Education Association, VCU Student Chapter, holds its annual Welcome Back Party at the park between the Singleton Center and the James Black Music Center. Attendees will celebrate the new academic year with popsicles, art-making, and new and old friends alike.
'Blowout Bash'
Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Chi Alpha @ VCU welcomes students back to campus with its "Blowout Bash" on the green space next to IHOP and in front of Noodles & Company. Attendees will enjoy a night of giant inflatables, prizes and giveaways, cotton candy and popcorn.
R.A.M.ifications A Cappella Auditions
Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 at 5 p.m.
The R.A.M.ifications of VCU, an award-winning a cappella group, hosts auditions in the University Student Commons, Richmond Salons III-IV. The group is seeking all voice parts, as well as beat-boxers. Those interested in auditioning should come prepared with a verse and chorus from a song of choice that best showcases your vocal abilities.

Muslim Students Association: First General Body Meeting
Monday, Aug. 28, 2017 at 8 p.m.
The Muslim Students Association holds its first general body meeting of the semester in West Grace Street Student Housing-North, Room 1030J. This meeting will give both new and old members a chance to be briefed on the organization and its purpose, meet the new board/other members, and receive an overview of the upcoming events planned for the semester. SAVES Interest Meeting
Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Students Advocating Violence Education and Support (SAVES) holds an interest meeting in the University Student Commons, Alumni Board Room. SAVES is a peer education group on campus speaking and raising awareness on the topics of sexual assault, intimate partner violence and stalking. Attendees will learn more about the organization to see if they would be interested in joining.

Cabell Library Bus Stop Closures: Aug. 24-27
Due to multiple events impacting nearby traffic and street accessibility this week, the Cabell Library bus stop will be closed beginning at noon on Thursday, Aug. 24, through Sunday, Aug. 27. There will be no Express service on Thursday, Aug. 24, or Friday, Aug. 25. The Cabell bus stop is expected to reopen at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 28; however, should accessibility improve, service may be provided sooner. Connector passengers should proceed to the Laurel and Main Street stop for service.

Microsoft Office 365 and OneDrive
VCU Technology Services offers Microsoft Office 365 and OneDrive to VCU students at no charge. Students are able to download the Microsoft Office 365 applications on up to five operating systems per student, as well as up to five mobile devices. For download instructions, visit the website below.

Outdoor Adventure Program: Beach Stand-Up Paddle Boarding Day Trip
The VCU Outdoor Adventure Program offers a beach stand-up paddle boarding day trip on Saturday, Sept. 9. The cost is $22 for students and $25 for members. Participants should pack a lunch as food is not included in the cost. Register online or in-person at the Outing Rental Center from Thursday, Aug. 24, until Tuesday, Sept. 5.
ACE Group Exercise Instructor Prep Course Interest Meetings
VCU Rec Sports offers an ACE Group Exercise Instructor Prep Course for those interested in becoming a group exercise instructor. Interest meetings will be held on Monday, Aug. 28, and Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 7-8 p.m. in the Cary Street Gym, Wet Classroom. During the course, participants will learn the skills needed to lead fun and effective fitness classes, as well as sit for and pass a national certification.

Student Technology Advisory Committee (STAC) Accepting Applications
The Student Technology Advisory Committee (STAC) seeks new members for the academic year. The committee advises Technology Services in matters related to service design and implementation, programming and promotion of technology at VCU. The committee meets select Fridays during the semester and lunch is provided. All enrolled full-time students from all majors and ranks are encouraged to apply. OCPE Personal and Professional Development Programs
The VCU Office of Continuing and Professional Education (OCPE) presents a variety of face-to-face and online opportunities for personal and professional development for VCU faculty, staff, students and alumni. Noncredit certificate programs include: Corporate Event Planning, Certified Wedding and Event Planning, Signature Wedding and Event Design, and Paralegal Studies. Weekend workshops in play therapy, and an evening workshop series taught by Certified Professional Organizers, are also offered.
