New MCV Campus Parking Office Hours

Beginning on Monday, Aug. 28, the MCV Campus parking office, located at 659 N. Eighth St., will be open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The customer service call center will continue to provide service from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Outdoor Adventure Program: Upcoming Day Hikes

The VCU Outdoor Adventure Program offers day hikes through the Blue Ridge Mountains on Sunday, Sept. 10, and Sunday, Sept. 24. The cost is $15 for students and $20 for faculty/staff. Food is not included in this price, so participants should pack a lunch. Register online or in-person at the Outing Rental Center from Thursday, Aug. 24 through Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Become a VCU Traditions Keeper

VCU Alumni presents The Compass - VCU Traditions mobile app, which encourages students to find their Ram spirit by engaging in VCU's history, traditions and campus life. To explore the traditions, as well as complete traditions by taking pictures, uploading text and checking in, download the app and register. The mobile app can serve as an electronic scrapbook of the memories created at VCU and participants receive prizes after completing levels.

ACE Group Exercise Instructor Prep Course Interest Meetings

VCU Rec Sports offers an ACE Group Exercise Instructor Prep Course for those interested in becoming a group exercise instructor. Interest meetings will be held on Monday, Aug. 28, and Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 7-8 p.m. in the Cary Street Gym, Wet Classroom. During the course, participants will learn the skills needed to lead fun and effective fitness classes, as well as sit for and pass a national certification.

Student Technology Advisory Committee (STAC) Accepting Applications

The Student Technology Advisory Committee (STAC) seeks new members for the academic year. The committee advises Technology Services in matters related to service design and implementation, programming and promotion of technology at VCU. Want to love your body and live a balanced life?

Women students are invited to participate in a research study designed to promote appearance acceptance and healthy living. Participants will be asked to attend eight 1.5-hour groups designed to improve appearance satisfaction and teach skills for living well. All participants can receive up to $70 for attending three 1-hour assessments to complete interviews and surveys. All study activities will take place at The Well.
