VCU Southern Film Festival: Screening of 'Do Not Resist'
6:30 p.m.
The VCU Southern Film Festival screens the film "Do Not Resist" at the Virginia Historical Society, 428 N. Boulevard. The 2016 Tribeca Film Festival winner for Best Documentary, "Do Not Resist (2016) explores the rapid militarization of the police in the United States. The screening is held in cooperation with VHS "Created Equal" series, with special guests Phillip Thompson, president of Loudoun Chapter NAACP, and Alfred Durham, Richmond police chief. Moderated by William Obrochta, manager of education.

United2Heal: First 'Super Warehouse'

United2Heal holds its first "super warehouse" event. Rides will be provided to the warehouse. "Loving" will be shown on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 3 p.m. at the Virginia Historical Society, 428 N. Boulevard. 'Rams Go Wild'

The Activities Programming Board invites students to "Rams Go Wild" at the Metro Richmond Zoo, 8300 Beaver Bridge Rd. Tickets that come with a wristband for unlimited rides on the ski-lift tours and safari tours will be provided. The house has two large meeting rooms, a parlor room and two smaller board rooms for conference-style meetings. A Public Reading by Junot Díaz

Richmond's own DJ Lonnie B will be moderating a discussion with the panel. These legends of hip hop will be discussing how this genre has changed the landscape of music, dance and hip hop as a social justice movement.

Outdoor Adventure Program: Bike Clinics
Thursday, Sep. 21, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The VCU Outdoor Adventure Program offers a series of free bike clinics this semester. During this clinic, attendees will learn about common causes of flat tires and how to prevent them at the Outing Rental Center. Bicycle experts will demonstrate how to fix a flat and attendees will have a chance to participate. Participants can bring their own bike or use one provided. (The OAP does not sell bicycle inner tubes; if repairing a flat tire on a bike, participants should bring the appropriate tube for their bike.)

Amendment Literary and Art Journal: Open Call for Submissions
Amendment Literary and Art Journal, a socially progressive publication, is taking submissions for its fall 2017 journal. Any current student can submit literature or art, as well as any questions or concerns, by emailing amendmentvcu@gmail.com. The journal also has annual contests which come with $100 cash prizes, and any student who submits to the journal will have their work considered for the awards. All mediums and genres are accepted.

VCU Rec Sports: 'Functional Fitness Training'
VCU Rec Sports offers multiple sessions of "Functional Fitness Training" this fall. "Functional Fitness Training" gives participants the opportunity to work with a Certified Personal Trainer in groups of four to eight people at an affordable cost. Trainers use the Synrgy 360 to design challenging workouts while emphasizing proper form and effective exercise progressions so participants get the most out of their experience. For sessions 1-4, which begin on Monday, Sept. 11, and end on Friday, Oct. 20, register by Friday, Sept. 8.
