Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences hosts the University of North Carolina's 23rd National Health Equity Research webcast, "The Courage to Lead: Scholar-Activism and Health Equity in Turbulent Times," in Tompkins-McCaw Library, Room 2010. The webcast will feature panelists Camara Jones, Sr., fellow, Morehouse School of Medicine; Andrew Curley, postdoctoral fellow, UNC Chapel Hill; and Paul Cuadros, associate professor, UNC Chapel Hill. There will be a moderated question-and-answer session.

Campus Sustainability Day

The Office of Sustainability hosts its annual campus sustainability day on the Commons Plaza. There will be food, giveaways, a craft workshop, sustainability information and several local vendors on site.

Representatives of the Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity, Office of the Dean of Students, University Counseling Services, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Health, Residential Life and Housing, Academic Advising and VCU Police offer a free lunch at West Grace Street Student Housing-South, Room 1004A. 'First-Gen Fridays'

Strategic Enrollment Management presents "First-Gen Fridays" in the University Student Commons, Richmond Salon III, for students, faculty and staff who will be or were the first in their family to graduate from college. Attendees will enjoy pizza. "First-Gen Fridays" is an opportunity for first-generation college students to meet each other and faculty from around the university. This meeting will showcase learning support resources designed to help increase student success.

VCU Rec Sports has implemented a new guest policy. Students and members can sponsor one guest for $10, and non-member faculty/staff can self sponsor for $10 per day. Rec Sports Outdoor Adventure Program: Day River Stand-Up Paddle Boarding
The Outdoor Adventure Program offers river stand-up paddle board day trips for participants to learn the basics of stability, balance and maneuvering on a stand-up paddle board. Participants will discover why this sport is taking off in popularity amongst surfers, fisherman and recreational paddlers around the world. The cost is $15 for students and $20 for members. The VCU Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute: Accepting Applications for HIGHER Ground Class of 2018
The VCU Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute, in the Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs, is accepting applications for its HIGHER Ground Women's Leadership Development Program. The HIGHER Ground Women's Leadership Development Program is a five-month leadership development experience for current and emerging women leaders who are committed to investing in themselves and their organizations.
