Celtic Masters

The Department of Music presents the Celtic Masters in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall at the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, as part of the 2017 Guitar and Other Strings Series, 25th Season. Three award-winning Celtic masters present a program originating from the deep well of ancient folk traditions. Maggie Sansone, Sharon Knowles and Jody Marshall combine the energy and spirit of traditional music with the harmonies and depth of classical interpretation. Admission is $15.

Beth O'Boyle Basketball Day Camp
Monday, Jul. 17, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Women's Basketball head coach, Beth O'Boyle, hosts a week-long basketball camp at VCU this summer for any and all girls and boys, grades 1-8. Campers will learn basic basketball skills and fundamentals by current VCU players and coaches. In addition to enhancing basketball IQ, campers will also have the opportunity to play games, participate in contests and win prizes. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join in on the fun. A VCU employee discount is available.

VCU BEST: 'Balancing Professional and Personal Life'

VCU BEST holds a workshop featuring Rachel Stephens, advanced mental health resident, University Counseling Services, presenting strategies for balancing professional and personal life in the McGlothlin Medical Education Center, Room 12-101/102. All are welcome to attend. This program is part of the VCU BEST workshop series. VCU BEST (Broadening Experiences for Scientific Training) seeks to transform the culture of scientific training at VCU by providing career and professional development to complement academic training.

VCU Rec Sports OAP Backpacking and Yoga Weekend
Saturday, Jul. 22, 2017 at 9 a.m.
The VCU Rec Sports Outdoor Adventure Program offers a mindful weekend in the mountains from July 22-23. The cost is $44 for students and $50 for VCU Rec Sports members. Price includes food, transportation, equipment and guides. Register online or in-person at the Outing Rental Center by Tuesday, July 18.

Outdoor Adventure Program: Day Hike

The Outdoor Adventure Program holds a day hike in the Shenandoah Valley. Participants should pack a lunch, as food is not included. The cost is $15 for students and $20 for members. Register online or in-person at the Outing Rental Center by Tuesday, July 25.

The Global Education Office seeks volunteers interested in becoming a friendship family for a Humphrey Fellow. Humphrey Fellows are mid-career professionals working in a health-related field within their home countries.
