The Division of Family Medicine and Population Health's Division of Epidemiology hosts M. Norman Oliver, M.D., M.A., as the speaker of its weekly seminar series in One Capitol Square, Sixth Floor, Room 644. Oliver, deputy commissioner for population health, Virginia Department of Health, will present "Unconscious Racial Bias: Its Impact on Clinical Decision Making."
Black History Month Lunchtime Concert
12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
VCU Health Arts in Healthcare presents a lunchtime concert in the VCU Medical Center, Gateway Building Lobby, featuring "Bak N Da Day." Attendees can take a trip down memory lane with Richmond's oldies vocal group, "Bak N Da Day," as they sing music spanning the 50's, 60's and 70's.
Men of Color Student Symposium
4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, College of Humanities and Sciences Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Committee, and the College of Humanities and Sciences African American Male Initiative sponsor a symposium exploring initiatives focused on retention of men of color in higher education in Cabell Library, Lecture Hall 303. Speakers will include Terrell Strayhorn, Ph.D., a scholar who speaks and publishes on college student success and issues of equity and diversity in higher education.
'The Cultivation of Human Spirit'
4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Bhakti Yoga Club presents a talk by Hanumatpresaka Swami on Bhakti and the application of Bhakti on ones mind in the University Student Commons Theater. Attendees will view the finest collections of traditional and oriental art as it illustrates the heart of the human spirit through evolution and captures human spirituality. All are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
RVArts - Room, For Now - Amber Esseiva + Cara Benedetto
6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
RVArts presents a conversation between artist/author Cara Benedetto, and curator, Amber Esseiva, at The Depot. They are essential contributors to the future of all things art in Richmond. RVArts is a cross-listed course between the VCUarts Art Foundations program and University College.

Photo Editing Workshop
7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Photography Club at VCU holds a photo editing workshop at the Workshop in Cabell Library Basement. Participants can improve editing skills to make photos look even more amazing, receive a free Adobe baseball-style T-shirt while supplies last and free Adobe trials. Non-members are welcome and no experience is necessary.

VCU Libraries' Workshop and Innovative Media team offer "DIY Bookbinding Techniques for Zines" on the lower level of Cabell Library. Attendees can master several non-adhesive bookbinding techniques that are perfect for crafting simple zines.

Community Art Therapy Workshop
Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Sciences Club at VCU hosts a Community Art Therapy workshop at The Depot. The workshop will be guided by Leila Saadeh, certified art therapist, and is conducted in partnership with Daily Planet Health Services. Attendees can relax while working on a guided art project, learning first-hand about the power of art therapy in mental health care.

Women's Basketball Hosts St. Louis

VCU Women's Basketball hosts St. Louis in their final home game of the 2017-18 regular season in the E.J. Wade Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. The first 200 fans in attendance will receive a VCU pink T-shirt.

Chili’s at VCU Hosts Official Men’s Basketball Away Game Watch Party
Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 at 7 p.m.
Chili's at VCU hosts the official Men's Basketball watch party as they take on the University of Massachusetts (UMass). Fans can catch the HAVOC live on each of Chilis' nine TVs and take advantage of specials including the $5 game-day burger. Attendees are encouraged to wear VCU gear for free giveaways and prizes. 'Alzheimer's Disease as an 'mTORopathy''

The Department of Medicinal Chemistry presents "Alzheimer's Disease as an 'mTORopathy'" as part of its 2018 spring seminar series in BioTech One, Founders Conference Room. The seminar will feature George S. Bloom, professor of biology, Cell Biology and Neuroscience, and chair of the Department of Biology, University of Virginia.
Literature and Flash Art Event
Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at 7 p.m.
The VCU undergraduate journals of literature and art Amendment and Pwatem have teamed up to host an evening of literature readings and art-making at The Anderson Gallery. This event will feature writers reading their original short stories and poems while fine and performing artists make work inspired by the pieces. The event is free and open to the public, and will have free food, drinks and copies of the journals.

Time to Order Regalia for May Commencement
Virginia Commonwealth University's May Commencement exercises take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, at the Richmond Coliseum, 601 E. Leigh St. Faculty participating in the ceremony will wear academic apparel. Regalia must be ordered by Friday, April 13.

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Sportable Climbing Clinics
The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program presents Sportable Climbing Clinics at the Cary Street Gym Rock Climbing Wall. These provide indoor rock climbing experiences to members of the community with physical and visual disabilities. The next Sportable Climbing Clinics will be held on Thursday, February 22 and Thursday, March 1.
