Film Screening: 'Waiting to Inhale'

VCU's Political Science Department hosts "Redistricting in Virginia: A Bipartisan Problem" in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 2104. We will be discussing what is and why do both redistricting and Gerrymandering exist in Virginia. Will also be discussing how can we put an end to Gerrymandering and redraw fair district lines in the Commonwealth. The discussion panel will consist of Delegate Lashrecse Aird, Senator Siobhan Dunnavant, Brian Cannon and professor John Aughenbaugh. Audience questions are welcome.

Zine Binding Workshop: 'After Gidra'

The Asian American and Pacific Islander Alliance is hosting a presentation about the Cabell Library's collection of zines and the legacy of Gidra, a radical zine started by Asian Americans in the 1960s, followed by a zine binding workshop. The presentation will be held in the Cabell Library, John Mapp Room, 4th floor, from 6-6:30 pm, and the workshop will be held in The Workshop's Makerspace, lower level, from 6:30-8 p.m. Zines are DIY magazines that can include pictures, illustrations, drawings, poems and thoughts.

Participants will assemble care kits for survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence. Free dinner provided.

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Stand Up Paddle Boarding - Beach
Knowledgeable instructors at VCU Rec Sports Outdoor Adventure Program lead a day trip to the beach April 22 to teach the basics of Stand up paddle boarding: stability, balance and maneuvering. Pack a lunch, as food is not included. Register by April 17.
