Rams in Recovery (The Well) and the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs present "The Color of Recovery," featuring African American members of the recovery community at VCU in the University Student Commons, OMSA Office, Room 215. Attendees will hear perspectives on addressing stigma, holding multiple identities, the pain of addiction, and the joy and hope in recovery. Pizza and Recovery Roast Coffee will be served.

VCU Health Arts In Healthcare presents a lunchtime concert featuring Blues-man Bobby "BlackHat " Walters in VCU Medical Center, Gateway Building Lobby. Bobby "BlackHat" Walters, recording artist, harmonica player, vocalist, songwriter and actor, hails from Cleveland, Ohio, and has been playing harp for over 40 years. Bobby is a retired U.S. Coast Guard Commander with 27 years of distinguished service which included serving as Military Aide to the President.

The Wellness Resource Center hosts "Black Love Matters: Healthy Love in Black Queer and Trans Communities" in the University Student Commons, Virginia Room A. Healthy relationships and love within the LGBTQIA+ community will be discussed.
Muevelo's Latin Dance Workshop
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Muevelo at VCU hosts a Latin dance workshop in West Grace Street Student Housing-North, Room 1030J. Participants will learn how to dance Salsa, Bachata and social dancing techniques. No experience needed and all levels are welcomed.
Multicultural Dinner
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Student National Pharmaceutical Association presents its annual multicultural dinner in the Larrick Student Center Ballroom. This event will include catered food representing various cultures, performances and a fashion show showcasing the traditional clothing of different cultures. The highlight of the event is the keynote speaker who discusses health care disparities among minorities and how future health care professionals can break down those barriers.
Emerging Healthcare Leaders: A Healthcare Family Feud
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Emerging Healthcare Leaders invites the VCU community to "A Healthcare Family Feud." "A Healthcare Family Feud" is your typical family feud game, but with questions related to healthcare such as "name a body part that begins with T" and "commons places you get a flu." Dinner will be provided at the event, and prizes are available.
VCU Recreational Sports: Log Rolling Clinics
8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
VCU Recreational Sports offers new Key Log Rolling Clinics during the spring semester. The next February clinic will be held on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 8-9 p.m. at the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center. Trained aquatic instructors will teach the basics of running on key logs to members of various skill levels. Based on experience level, there will be opportunities to increase the intensity, decrease the stability, and increase the fun with competitions.

Careers in the State Department

VCU Globe and the National Scholarship Office welcome Ambassador Arnold Chacon to VCU Globe, West Grace Street Student Housing-North, Room 1030J. He will give a presentation on careers in the State Department. He is also available earlier Friday for individual meetings with students who cannot attend the information session. Black History Month Lecture

VCU Health Arts in Healthcare presents a Black History Month breakfast lecture with Ana Edwards in VCU Medical Center, Main Hospital Café Second level meeting room. A native of Los Angeles, Edwards has made her home in Richmond since 1988. She holds a B.A. in Visual Arts from California State Polytechnic University and is now pursuing a masters degree in history at VCU. Edwards is also a Mellon Foundation fellow at the American Civil War Museum.

VCU Master Plan Public Presentations
The VCU Master Plan team has spent the last four months engaging a large cross-section of the VCU and Richmond community to develop an environmental scan of the campus. On Tuesday, Feb. 27, and Wednesday, Feb. 28, the Master Plan team will give public presentations that summarize the existing opportunities and challenges for both campuses and the high-level themes that will serve as the foundation for the Design Phase of the project that will take place this spring. The presentations, which will all contain the same information, are an opportunity to learn more about the Master Plan process, see the results of your feedback to date, and ask questions of the Master Plan team. The public presentations will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Kontos Medical Sciences Building Auditorium (a live webcast of this presentation will be streamed on VCU's Facebook page, go.vcu.edu/vcufacebook), and from 6-7 p.m. in the Temple Building, Room 1164; on Wednesday, Feb. 28, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Temple Building, Room 1160.

2018 Summer Fellowships for Undergraduate Research at VCU: Call for Proposals
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program offers funded fellowship opportunities for undergraduates and faculty mentors to partner on research projects during the summer of 2018 at VCU. In addition to the UROP Fellowship, fellowships funded by the Center for Clinical and Translational Research, the Global Education Office and the Division for Inclusive Excellence will also be offered. Call for Participants: Gendered Racial Microaggressions among Black women
Do you self-identify as a Black woman (ages 18-25)? In this study, you will be asked to participate in a group discussion about relationships, discrimination, and gender role beliefs. The group discussion will take approximately one (1) hour. You will be compensated $20 for your participation.
