'Insights: Institutional Information and Data Analytics Platform Training'
Monday, Jul. 17, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Enterprise Analytics and Advanced Research hosts "Insights" training on both campuses. The sessions will be held on Monday, July 17, from 2-3:30 p.m. in the T. Edward Temple Building, Room 1145; and on Thursday, July 20, from 2-2:30 p.m. in Sanger Hall, Room B1-020. The target audience for this training are academic and administrative unit leadership personnel including those who support them.

Quatro na Bossa

The Department of Music presents Quatro na Bossa in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall at the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, part of the 2017 Guitar and Other Strings Series, 25th Season. Kevin Harding and Laura Ann Singh formed Quatro na Bossa, Brazilian bossa nova and samba, in 2003. Quatro na Bossa's innovative arrangements and unique style result in music that is fresh and engaging while remaining authentically Brazilian. General admission is $15.

VCU Community Guitar Ensemble

The Department of Music presents the VCU Community Guitar Ensemble in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall, as part of the 2017 Guitar and Other Strings Series, 25th season. The VCU Community Guitar Ensemble consists of 25 talented classical guitarists from Central Virginia. Established in 1986 by John Patykula, this ensemble has performed as part of the Richmond International Music Festival and Richmond's Big Gig summer festival. Free admission.

The VCU Data Science Lab holds a Reproducible Research Workshop in the Molecular Medicine Research Building, Room 1013. Participants will learn easy, practical steps researchers can take to increase the reproducibility of their work using the Open Science Framework. The workshop will be hands-on and attendees will actively participate in creating a reproducible project from start to finish.

Introductory Tai Chi Class for Faculty and Staff

VCU BEST: 'How to Finish Your Dissertation'

VCU BEST holds a workshop featuring Patty Slattum, Pharm.D., Ph.D., professor, School of Pharmacy, presenting strategies for finishing a dissertation in the McGlothlin Medical Education Center, Room 12-101/102. All are welcome to attend. No registration required. This program is part of the VCU BEST workshop series. VCU BEST (Broadening Experiences for Scientific Training) seeks to transform the culture of scientific training at VCU by providing career and professional development to complement academic training.

VCU Rec Sports OAP Day Hike
Saturday, Jul. 29, 2017 at 9 a.m.
VCU Rec Sports Outdoor Adventure Program holds a day hike in the Shenandoah Valley. Participants should pack a lunch, as food is not included. The cost is $15 for students and $20 for members. Register online or in-person at the Outing Rental Center by Tuesday, July 25.

Monroe Park Campus Fall '17 Parking Sales

Enhanced Security for VCU Login
VCU is continuing its effort to protect our community from cyber threats that may jeopardize the safety and security of our information. In the continued effort to enhance the security of accounts, the VCU 2Factor Authentication will be extended to major services such as Blackboard, email and VCU Portal in Aug. 2017. This upcoming change will provide faculty and staff members with additional protection for their VCU accounts.
