The Religious Studies Society presents "Queerness and Religion" at 14 N. Laurel St., Powell-Edwards Lounge. Attendees will enjoy a discussion with EJ Urban, an honors religious studies and economics double major who lives in the Lavender House, as she explains how queerness fits into religion.

VCU Libraries hosts "Wednesdays in the Workshop," an open house designed to help attendees explore new equipment, techniques, softwares or experiences every Wednesday in Cabell Library, Lower Level. This week's topic will be best practices in designing research posters - how to make posters eye-catching, legible and far from dull.

Study Abroad Coffee Bar

The Global Education Office hosts the Study Abroad Coffee Bar in Rodney's Cafe. Students interested in studying abroad during winter, spring and summer 2018 are encouraged to attend. Attendees can register to win one of ten $500 study abroad awards. This event is part of VCU's celebration of International Education Week, which recognizes the benefits of international education and exchanges worldwide.

The Public Administration Student Association at VCU presents "Insights: Virginia Election" at Virginia Union University, L. Douglas Wilder Library, 1500 N. Lombardy St. The event, co-sponsored with the Central Virginia Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration, will feature political expert Bob Holsworth, Ph.D., with analysis of the outcome and impact of the Nov. 7 election in Virginia.
2017 VCU Cabell First Novelist Award Night Honors Jade Chang and 'The Wangs vs. the World'

The Department of English and VCU Libraries present Jade Chang, winner of the 2017 VCU Cabell First Novelist Award for "The Wangs vs. the World," reading from her book in Cabell Library, Lecture Hall, Room 303. Chang will be joined by her agent and editor to discuss the evolution of the book from original idea, to first draft, to published work. A public reception, book sale and signing will follow. Third Annual 'Turkey Bowl'

Medical Student Athletic Club invites the VCU community to participate in the third annual "Turkey Bowl" at the Cary Street Field. The co-ed event will be sponsored by Chick-fil-A and will feature prizes for the winning team and T-shirts for participants. SGA 'Ramsgiving'
This Thanksgiving, the Student Government Association encourages the VCU community to celebrate the season by donating non-perishable food items to the inaugural partnership between the City of Richmond and the VCU SGA, "Ramsgiving." "Ramsgiving" is a two-week, campus-wide donation drive from Nov. 6-20. Beneficiaries of the collected non-perishable food items are RamPantry, FeedMore of Richmond and local community public housing.
VCU Health Orchestra: Seeking Musicians
Like many medical campuses across the country, VCU Health now has an orchestra for all VCU Health team members, medical students and pre-med field students. The orchestra is seeking additional experienced musicians who are excited about practicing and performing together. The Chamber Orchestra including strings, winds, brass, and conductor Rondy Lazaro, will meet Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. on the second floor of the Main Hospital Cafeteria.
RamAway: Accepting Reservations Through Nov. 17
For those needing a ride back home for Thanksgiving break, RamAway provides free transportation for faculty, staff and students during designated holidays and semester breaks to and/or from the Richmond International Airport, Greyhound Bus Station and Amtrak at Main Street Station and Staples Mill Road. Research Opportunity
Are you a woman in menopause experiencing anxiety? Would you like to talk about your experiences? Researchers at the VCU School of Nursing are interested in learning more about women’s health in menopause. Participation in this qualitative study would involve a face to face interview (approximately 1 hour) to discuss your personal experience with anxiety in menopause. The interview will be audio recorded and will take place at a location convenient to you. You will receive a gift card to a local business for participation in the study.
