Herrera's forthcoming book studies the work of female artists of the Nuyorican Poets Café, and is one of the organizers of "Nuestras Historias: Latinos in Richmond," a current exhibition at The Valentine. Voicemail Transition: Action Required

On Tuesday, Oct, 3, at 9 p.m., VCU Telecommunications will migrate Avaya Voicemail users to a new voicemail platform provided by AVST. Faculty and staff should watch for emails from voicemail@vcu.edu with directions for setting up their new mailbox. Setup takes three minutes and is only four steps. Old mailboxes will be removed on Friday, Oct. 20. Building Inclusive Communities Workshops in October: Registration Open

The Division for Inclusive Excellence invites faculty, administrators and staff to Building Inclusive Communities (BIC) workshops this fall. Five workshops will be offered between Oct. 3-20. Seating is limited and advanced registration is required. BIC supports the university community in creating an engaged, diverse and inclusive campus environment. Workshop goals include understanding historically marginalized and privileged group dynamics; learning to identify and avoid behavioral traps that contribute to cycles of inequality; and creating a personal plan for changing inequitable behaviors and practices.
