VCU Symphony Presents 'Hollywood Magic'
Saturday, Sep. 23, 2017 at 8 p.m.
The Department of Music presents a VCU Symphony concert in the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. The concert will feature music from "Jurassic Park," "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "The Sound of Music" and "West Side Story," with additional works by Berlioz and Weber. 'Building a Better Budget'

VCU Rec Sports: Golf Tournament
Friday, Sep. 29, 2017 from noon to 7 p.m.
VCU Rec Sports and the Rec Sports Student Development Committee host a golf tournament for students, faculty, staff and guests at Belmont Golf Course, 1600 Hilliard Rd. The cost for registration includes golf, lunch and giveaways. All proceeds go to student scholarships for NIRSA. Registration ends on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

The Burnside Watstein Award recognizes one or more individuals who enrich the sense of community at Virginia Commonwealth University, and in particular, make a significant difference in the lives of LGBTQIA+ faculty, staff and students. VCU Rec Sports: Female and Male Only Swim Nights
In order to better reach the needs of the VCU community, VCU Rec Sports hosts male and female only swim nights on Fridays during the semester. These events will be on alternating Fridays at the MCV Aquatic Center from 7-9 p.m. The next female only swim night is on Friday, Sept. 29, and the next male only swim night is on Friday, Sept. 22.

Cabell Screen Contest Seeks Animated Submissions for $500 Prize
VCU Libraries seeks short videos or animations designed to showcase and promote the annual Friends of VCU Libraries Book Sale. The annual book sale raises money for library programs and student-run community service projects. The one selected animation will run on the Cabell Screen during the last week in October and the artist will receive a $500 prize. Students, faculty, alumni and staff are invited to submit.
