VCU Jazz Orchestra II, under the direction of Steven Cunningham, holds a concert in the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Music will include Quincy Jones, Neal Hefti, Sammy Nestico, Michael Mossman, Frank Foster, Oliver Nelson, Thad Jones and Vernon Duke. 'Mindful Mornings at VCU'

Good Clear Sound Open Mic

Good Clear Sound, VCU's international slam poetry team, holds an open mic at The Depot. The event is free and open to the public. It allows participants to display talents such as singing, poetry, dancing and comedy.
'Indigenous Health in Brazil and American Indians'
Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 from noon to 1 p.m.
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs hosts a dialogue for American Indian Heritage Month featuring Taveira, a Humphrey fellow, in the University Student Commons. Taveira's special interests are in control programs, health promotion and chronic disease prevention. She hopes her studies in the U.S. and partnerships with Brazilian programs will help her design effective, holistic and community-oriented programs to reduce mortality and morbidity in indigenous populations.

Caps, Gowns and Hoods for December Commencement
December Commencement exercises take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, in the E.J. Wade Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. Students participating in the ceremony must wear caps, gowns and hoods. Academic regalia is available for purchase at the Barnes & Noble @ VCU beginning Tuesday, Oct. 10, on the Monroe Park and MCV campuses. Those unable to visit a campus store may order online at vcu.shopoakhalli.com beginning Thursday, Oct. 12. The last day to order online is Sunday, Nov. 26. Caps and gowns will not be available for purchase at the Commencement ceremony.
