University Counseling Services holds a QPR/Suicide Prevention Training in the University Student Commons Theater. Participants will learn how to question someone about potential suicidal thoughts; persuade them to seek help; and refer them for professional help.

TRIO Student Support Services presents "Money Mondays." This Monday's topic is "Building a Better Budget," a hands-on workshop providing students with practical advice for creating and sticking to a budget with tools to track spending and establish college-friendly savings goals, in the University Student Commons, Alumni Board Room.

Global Medical Training holds its first general body meeting in West Grace Street Student Housing-North, Room 1030J. Global Medical Training is an international humanitarian organization that provides free medical/dental services to medically deprived communities outside of the U.S. This organization offers students the opportunity to gain clinical exposure by actively participating in medical assessments and treatments.

The College Behavioral and Emotional Health Institute hosts the first monthly COBE Connect lunch lecture in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Marcie Walsh, COBE administrative director, will present "Research in Action: Thrive, Fit and the Science of Happiness," a discussion of several ways in which research on substance use, mental health, and wellness has been translated into VCU programming and coursework.

Richmond Teacher Residency: 'Coffee and Conversation' Information Session

The VCU Richmond Teacher Residency Program holds a "Coffee and Conversation" information session at 3600 W. Broad St., Suite 300. Residents learn side-by-side with top Richmond Public School teachers for an entire year while earning a master's degree from VCU. Residents receive one-on-one training from a content-specific coach throughout the first two years of their teaching careers.

The VCU Rehabilitation Research and Training Center holds the State of the Science Conference on the Employment of People with Physical Disabilities on Sept. 26-27, at Cabell Library. Research on effective policies, practices and interventions to improve the employment outcomes of people with physical disabilities will be presented. This is a free two-day conference designed to discuss issues and implications from new knowledge gained from the research.

Registration for Relationship Skills Classes
The Well hosts a Relationship Skills Class, a six-week psychoeducational class for students to build skills for healthy relationships. This class is free and not for credit. Multiple classes will be offered for LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, and other gender and sexual minorities) as well as for the general student population. Research Opportunity
Are you a woman in menopause experiencing anxiety? Would you like to talk about your experiences? Researchers at the VCU School of Nursing are interested in learning more about women’s health in menopause. Participation in this qualitative study would involve a face to face interview (approximately 1 hour) to discuss your personal experience with anxiety in menopause. The interview will be audio recorded and will take place at a location convenient to you. You will receive a gift card to a local business for participation in the study.
