VCU holds an official ring sale event by Balfour for juniors and seniors outside of the P.O.D. Market in the University Student Commons. Junior and seniors wanting to participate in VCU's Ring Presentation Ceremony in December should order during this event to ensure they are eligible to participate. 'Intersection of Immigration and Disability'
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The Division for Inclusive Excellence and Student Accessibility and Educational Opportunity (SAEO) present Conchita Hernandez Legorreta, co-founder of the National Coalition for Latinx with Disabilities, speaking about the intersection of immigration and disability and the importance of translation and interpretation for social justice in West Grace Street Student Housing-South, Room 1004A. Hernandez is chair of Mentoring Engaging and Teaching All Students (METAS), a nonprofit organization that trains educators internationally to work with blind/low vision students and students with other disabilities. The National Scholarship Office holds a RISE/SMART information session in the School of Engineering East Hall, Room 2221. The RISE and SMART scholarships provide funding for undergraduates studying the sciences to pursue laboratory research. Attendees will learn more about the application process for each scholarship.

Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences, the Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research and the VCU Postdoctoral Association present "Exploring a Protein Structure using Chimera: Modeling Missing Loops" with Balaji Nagarajan, Ph.D., in the Tompkins-McCaw Library, Room 2-010. A case study will be used to demonstrate 3D protein structure visualizations and how to identify and model missing loops in Chimera, a molecular visualization and analysis tool. Strategic Plan 2025 Town Hall

VCU holds a town hall for feedback on its new strategic plan in the Egyptian Building, Baruch Auditorium. At this town hall, the five work groups will present their draft themes and goals that will make up the backbone of the new plan, and introduce their preliminary work on implementation.

Caps, Gowns and Hoods for December Commencement
December Commencement exercises take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, in the E.J. Wade Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. Students participating in the ceremony must wear caps, gowns and hoods. Academic regalia is available for purchase at the Barnes & Noble @ VCU beginning Tuesday, Oct. 10, on the Monroe Park and MCV campuses. Those unable to visit a campus store may order online at vcu.shopoakhalli.com beginning Thursday, Oct. 12. The last day to order online is Sunday, Nov. 26. Caps and gowns will not be available for purchase at the Commencement ceremony.

New research study on anxiety and health in young adults enrolling now!
Researchers in the OPT for health lab at VCU want to learn more about the relationship between anxiety, health, and mood.
