Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences invites all new and returning students to the MCV Campus for a visit and a tour. Participants will learn about VCU Libraries resources and services available, both in its building and electronically, meet staff, see demos of library databases and equipment, tour the facility and see collaborative spaces.

When it comes to student safety, especially at night and during social events, VCU Police officers encourage all students to #StayWithTheHerd. Before classes begin, students can meet with officers who can answer all safety questions on the Compass from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 5-6 p.m. There will be free giveaways, food and chances to win prizes.

VCU Jazz holds ensembles auditions. Non-music major brass, saxes and upright bassists are especially encouraged to audition for the VCU big bands and/or combos for credit. The University Student Commons and Activities presents the annual Student Organization and Volunteer Opportunities (SOVO) Fair in the University Student Commons. The SOVO Fair is an event where student organizations, VCU departments, sponsors and nonprofit agencies come together to showcase the various ways that students can get involved on campus and in the community. Over 500 student organizations and numerous community partners will be in attendance.

The Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute holds the 11th Annual HIGHER Ground Women's Leadership Conference on Friday, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, 403 N. 3rd St. This one-day event will explore the ways to envision, create and sustain personal and professional growth through the stories we tell and receive with others.
