Health Science Club at VCU: Red Cross Blood Drive

The Health Science Club at VCU hosts a Red Cross blood drive on Tuesday, Aug. 29, and Wednesday, Aug. 30, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Parish Hall, 800 S. Cathedral Place. 'Survivor Solidarity Hour'
12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Wellness Resource Center holds "Survivor Solidarity Hour," a space where survivors of violence and their allies can come together and be in community, in The Well's Recovery Clubhouse. Students can hang out in bean bag chairs, enjoy pizza and coffee thanks to Rams in Recovery, bring homework, play games, and practice and share self-care. "Survivor Solidarity Hour" takes place every Tuesday.

Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming (TGNC) Support Group
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Wellness Resource Center hosts a Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming (TGNC) Support Group every Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. beginning Aug. 29. Students who identify in the TGNC community (including, but not limited to: trans, non-binary, gender fluid, genderqueer, agender, bigender) are welcome to attend this confidential space. 'Safe Sex in the Dark'
7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Students Advocating Violence Education and Support (SAVES) invites students to anonymously submit questions about safe sex and sexual health and have the questions answered in a group discussion in the University Student Commons, Richmond Salon I.
Pool at Break Point
7 p.m.
The Muslim Students Association presents pool at Break Point in the University Student Commons. This event is part of Welcome Week by MSA, and it is to primarily give new and old members a chance to socialize and regroup. This event is also open to the public.

The Activities Programming Board holds interest meetings on Wednesday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the University Student Commons, Richmond Salons, for those interested in volunteering and becoming an Event Squad Member for the 2017-18 year. Attending an interest meeting is required to become a member.
'Virtual RAMality'

The Activities Programming Board presents "Virtual RAMality" in the University Student Commons, Commonwealth Ballrooms. Participants will experience different virtual realities through the future of gaming. Free food will be provided.

11th Annual HIGHER Ground Women's Leadership Conference: Registration Open
The Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute holds the 11th Annual HIGHER Ground Women's Leadership Conference on Friday, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, 403 N. 3rd St. This one-day event will explore the ways to envision, create and sustain personal and professional growth through the stories we tell and receive with others. To be transformational leaders, leaders must stay grounded in who they are as individuals while working to weave a collective narrative that honors the experiences of everyone.

VCU Rec Sports: September Intramural Sports
During the month of September, VCU Rec Sports offers Intramural Sports leagues of 6v6 volleyball and 7v7 outdoor soccer. Registration for these leagues will end on Sunday, Sept. 3. Tournaments will also be offered, including kickball and a Field Day event. Registration for these events will end on Monday, Sept. 18.

Researchers in the OPT for health lab at VCU want to learn more about the relationship between anxiety, health, and mood.
