The Division of Strategic Enrollment Management presents "Financial Aid 101," a presentation about the fundamentals of the financial aid process, in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. 'Roles of Mucins in Respiratory Tract Inflammation'

The Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research presents its first "Whetting Your Appetite for Research" seminar titled, "Show Me the Money," in Tompkins-McCaw Library, Room 109. VCU Libraries hosts "The Workshop at Cabell Library," an open house designed to help attendees explore new equipment, techniques, softwares or experiences every Wednesday at Cabell Library. This week's topic will be "3D Modeling and Printing: Tips, Tricks and Techniques." Participants will learn how to build a 3D model like an expert to make the perfect print every time.

Rec Sports and Outdoor Adventure Program: 'No Slack Climbathon'
Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
VCU Rec Sports and the Outdoor Adventure host a 12-hour climbing marathon called "No Slack Climbathon" at the Cary Street Gym and Manchester Wall to benefit Operation Underground Railroad. Participants will climb while also having an opportunity to participate in other activities like slacklining, log rolling and knot-tying races. Each climber will make a $14 donation to O.U.R. when registering.

Outdoor Adventure Program: Day Canoe
The Outdoor Adventure Program holds a day canoe trip on Saturday, Oct. 7. Participants will be introduced to canoeing on a scenic stretch of local flatwater. Experienced trip leaders will teach strokes and packing techniques, while participants explore places where larger boats cannot go. The price is $15 for students and $20 for members and includes equipment, transportation and guides. Food is not included, so be sure to pack a lunch. This trip is geared for beginners who have little to no experience. Register by Tuesday, Oct. 3.
