Study Abroad Fall Fair
10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Global Education Office hosts the annual Study Abroad Fall Fair on the Commons Plaza. Students will have the opportunity to meet study abroad program providers, other students who have studied abroad and representatives from various offices at VCU that assist with the study abroad process, including Education Abroad, National Scholarship Office and Career Services. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to attend to learn about study abroad options, funding and resources.

VCUDine Guest Restaurant: Lehja

VCUDine welcomes Lehja, the first guest restaurant of the semester, to Market 810 in Shafer Court Dining Center. For both lunch and dinner, the popular Short Pump restaurant will be on-site serving up some of their famed Indian dishes at the Fan Fare station. SEM Presents: 'Financial Aid 101'

The Division of Strategic Enrollment Management presents "Financial Aid 101," a presentation about the fundamentals of the financial aid process, in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Marc Vernon, executive director of financial aid, will share information about applying, qualifying, calculating and maintaining financial aid.
'Roles of Mucins in Respiratory Tract Inflammation'

The Institute for Structural Biology, Drug Discovery and Development presents "Roles of Mucins in Respiratory Tract Inflammation" as part of its 2017 fall seminar series in BioTech One, Robert Ball Conference Room. Kwang Chul Kim, Ph.D., professor and director, College of Medicine, University of Arizona, will facilitate.

'Show Me the Money'
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research presents its first "Whetting Your Appetite for Research" seminar titled, "Show Me the Money," in Tompkins-McCaw Library, Room 109. Pam Dillon, Pharm.D., Wright CCTR, will discuss how to position researchers to be competitive for funding and identify appropriate research funding for their career and research interests. 'Wednesdays in The Workshop: 3D Modeling and Printing: Tips, Tricks and Techniques'
3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
VCU Libraries hosts "The Workshop at Cabell Library," an open house designed to help attendees explore new equipment, techniques, softwares or experiences every Wednesday at Cabell Library. This week's topic will be "3D Modeling and Printing: Tips, Tricks and Techniques." Participants will learn how to build a 3D model like an expert to make the perfect print every time.

'Inside the Horn': VCU Police Career Fair
6 p.m.
VCU Police holds a career fair in Harris Hall, Room 101, for students to explore job opportunities within in the VCU Police Department. Attendees will learn about becoming a police officer, communications officer (dispatcher) or security officer. VCUPD officers and staff will provide overviews of career options and will offer time for questions-and-answers. VCU students who attend will be entered into a raffle; prizes include an Apple Watch and Roku 4 streaming media player. Snacks will be provided by Red Eye Cookie Co.
Guest Artist Recital: Emily Ondracek-Peterson and Richard Masters
7 p.m.
The Music Department presents a duo guest artist recital in the W.E. Singleton Center, Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. The recital will feature Emily Ondracek-Peterson, violin, and Richard Masters, piano. Free and open to the public.

A Resume Building Workshop with the Multicultural Greek Council
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Multicultural Greek Council at VCU presents a resume building workshop in the University Student Commons, Richmond Salons. Attendees will learn how to dress for success and pick up some tips on how to land an internship or dream job. Business casual attire is encouraged; there will be a photographer providing free headshots for attendees as well as a presenter from VCU Career Services.
Sarah Swafford: 'Relationships: It's Complicated'

Catholic Campus Ministry at VCU hosts Sarah Swafford at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Sanctuary. Swafford will offer a compelling blueprint for how to navigate relationships and thrive, not just survive, in every stage of life.

In celebration of Campus Sustainability Day, the Office of Sustainability hosts a screening and discussion of the documentary, "Clothes to Die For," on Thursday, Sept. 28, from 2-4 p.m. in Grace and Broad Residence Center 2, Room 1227; and from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Pollak Building, Room 221. Attendees will explore how the fashion industry impacts sustainability and the environment.
'Share Your Love'

MEDLIFE VCU and UFC Bootcamp
Saturday, Sep. 30, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
MEDLIFE at VCU teams up with UFC Gym in Richmond for an intense bootcamp at UFC Gym Richmond, 7546 W. Broad St. The attendance fee is $5. This bootcamp will be a whole 360 and is a great way to relieve upcoming midterm stress. A second session will be held on Sunday, Oct. 15, with a $7 attendance fee.

VCU Massey Cancer Center invites the VCU community to "Nutrition for Cancer Survivors," a series of four workshops led by Massey dietitian Elizabeth Miller, R.D., all about the connection between nutrition and cancer care and survivorship. Workshops are held at 5:30 p.m. in the first floor conference room at 9000 Stony Point Parkway the first four Tuesdays in October.

Rec Sports and Outdoor Adventure Program: 'No Slack Climbathon'
Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
VCU Rec Sports and the Outdoor Adventure host a 12-hour climbing marathon called "No Slack Climbathon" at the Cary Street Gym and Manchester Wall to benefit Operation Underground Railroad. Participants will climb while also having an opportunity to participate in other activities like slacklining, log rolling and knot-tying races. Each climber will make a $14 donation to O.U.R. when registering.

Outdoor Adventure Program: Day Canoe
The Outdoor Adventure Program holds a day canoe trip on Saturday, Oct. 7. Participants will be introduced to canoeing on a scenic stretch of local flatwater. Experienced trip leaders will teach strokes and packing techniques, while participants explore places where larger boats cannot go. The price is $15 for students and $20 for members and includes equipment, transportation and guides. Food is not included, so be sure to pack a lunch. This trip is geared for beginners who have little to no experience. Register by Tuesday, Oct. 3.
