'Being a VCU RAM: Intentional Decision Making'

The Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity and Residence Life and Housing host a Student Code of Conduct Awareness Week event in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Participants will examine their decision-making process and learn tips for intentional decision-making. Lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Saudi Arabian National Day

Saudi Students Club at VCU hosts Saudi National Day in the University Student Commons, Richmond Salons. Attendees will celebrate Saudi Arabian National Day by representing its significant culture, traditions, government success, vision and leadership programs. Traditional Saudi food will be served.
T. Howard Foundation Information Session
4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
VCU Career Services and the T. Howard Foundation hold an information session in the University Student Commons, Suite 143. The foundation is more than an internship program for minority students interested in the multimedia and entertainment industry. It offers full-time paid summer internships, networking opportunities, professional development training, scholarships and mentors. Students work with companies from New York to Los Angeles, Washington D.C. to Atlanta, and many places in between.

Guest Artist Recital: Anima Vox Duo
7 p.m.
The Department of Music presents guest artist, Anima Vox Duo, in the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Tadeu Coehlo, flute, and Carole Ott, soprano, will present a flute and soprano program. They will be joined by pianist Daniel Stipe and Tabatha Easley, flute. Admission is free.

Students Helping Honduras Thrift SHHop
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Students Helping Honduras holds a "Thrift SHHop" fundraiser on the Commons Plaza. Gently used clothing and other items will be available for sale. All proceeds go directly to helping build schools in Honduras.

The Division of Strategic Enrollment Management presents "Financial Aid 101," a presentation about the fundamentals of the financial aid process, in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Marc Vernon, executive director of financial aid, will share information about applying, qualifying, calculating and maintaining financial aid.
'Losing Sonia Sotomayor: An American Life After Multiculturalism'

As part of the events commemorating Hispanic Heritage Month at VCU, the Division for Inclusive Excellence presents Lazaro Lima discussing his forthcoming book on Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic and Latina Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, in the University Student Commons Theater. Lima is the E. Claiborne Robins Distinguished Chair in Liberal Arts at the University of Richmond and associate provost for faculty. This event, presented by the Faculty Fellows for Latinx Community Inclusion, is free and open to the public. Registration is suggested by visiting the website below.

This week's topic will be "3D Modeling and Printing: Tips, Tricks and Techniques." Participants will learn how to build a 3D model like an expert to make the perfect print every time.

This final session will provide practical solutions to managing stress.
'Inside the Horn': VCU Police Career Fair

VCU Police holds a career fair in Harris Hall, Room 101, for students to explore job opportunities within in the VCU Police Department. Attendees will learn about becoming a police officer, communications officer (dispatcher) or security officer. VCUPD officers and staff will provide overviews of career options and will offer time for questions-and-answers. VCU students who attend will be entered into a raffle; prizes include an Apple Watch and Roku 4 streaming media player. Snacks will be provided by Red Eye Cookie Co.

'Pups on the Plaza 2017'

The Center for Human-Animal Interaction holds its annual "Pups on the Plaza 2017" in the McGlothlin Medical Education Center Lobby. This "fur-iffic" event is a CVC fundraiser for the Center for Human-Animal Interaction and features the Dogs on Call therapy dogs. Meal tickets are $4 and event T-shirts designed by a VCU student are $10. Tickets can be purchased at the event or on the MCV Campus in advance at pre-sales on Friday, Sept. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Main Hospital, First Floor, Learning Center, or on Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Main Hospital, First Floor Kiosk.

The webcast will feature panelists Camara Jones, Sr., fellow, Morehouse School of Medicine; Andrew Curley, postdoctoral fellow, UNC Chapel Hill; and Paul Cuadros, associate professor, UNC Chapel Hill. MEDLIFE VCU and UFC Bootcamp

MEDLIFE at VCU teams up with UFC Gym in Richmond for an intense bootcamp at UFC Gym Richmond, 7546 W. Broad St. The attendance fee is $5. This bootcamp will be a whole 360 and is a great way to relieve upcoming midterm stress. A second session will be held on Sunday, Oct. 15, with a $7 attendance fee.

National Conflict Resolution Day 2017

The Office of the Ombudsperson presents a National Conflict Resolution Day (NCRD) 2017 event in the Larrick Student Center, Court End Ballroom A. NCRD is a global event intended to promote the concept of peaceful conflict resolution. This year’s event features keynote speaker Wayne Blair, university ombuds for the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, in addition to a hands-on workshop. The event is free and open to the public; registrants are asked to RSVP as breakfast will be served.

VCU Globe: Applications Accepted
VCU Globe accepts applications for the 2018-19 academic year. Rising VCU sophomores from all over the world will live in the West Grace Street Student Housing-North residence hall and participate in a 12-credit specialized curriculum that leads to a certificate in global education. Rec Sports Guest Policy
VCU Rec Sports has implemented a new guest policy. Students and members can sponsor one guest for $10, and non-member faculty/staff can self sponsor for $10 per day. Guest must present a valid ID to be admitted. Only one sponsored guest per day. Guest fee exceptions and changes can be requested by visiting the website below.

Outdoor Adventure Program: Backpacking and Yoga Weekend
The Outdoor Adventure Program offers a weekend hiking and camping trip in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western Virginia from Oct. 3-4. Participants will enjoy autumn's changing colors and cool weather, as well as pre- and post-hike yoga sessions. The cost is $44 for students and $50 for members and includes food, transportation, equipment and guides. Register by Tuesday, Oct. 3.
