RamRide: Express Route Discontinues Service Oct. 31

To accommodate the growing RamRide ridership and improve route efficiency, the Campus Connector Express route will be discontinued at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31. The former Express bus will be incorporated back into the Campus Connector route, for a total of five buses servicing passengers during the weekday business hours, beginning Wednesday, Nov. 1. To track RamRide in real time, use the VCU Mobile RamRide app or visit vcu.transloc.com

On Campus Flu Shot Clinics

Human Resources provides eligible VCU faculty and staff with seasonal flu shots on a first-come, first-served basis beginning in October. For dates and locations, visit the website below. To receive the vaccine, employees must participate in the State Health Benefits program and show their health plan card. Note that employees who intend to use the shots to obtain "Do Right" credit for the Aetna Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) must obtain written confirmation of the flu shot from Walgreens when they receive their shot.

VCU Rec Sports OAP: Rock Climbing Weekend

VCU Rec Sports OAP offers a climbing weekend from Nov. 4-5, in one of the most famous climbing areas in North America. Participants will enjoy a beautiful weekend climbing, away from the city. OAP leaders will teach participants basic climbing techniques, equipment usage and belaying techniques in a safe and trusting environment. The cost is $44 for students or $50 for members and includes food, transportation, equipment and guides. Register by Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Deadline Extended: Great American Indian Exposition (Pow-Wow)

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs sponsors a fall cultural excursion to the Great American Indian Exposition, also known as the Richmond Pow-Wow, on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Richmond International Raceway Complex, 600 E. Laburnum Ave. The pow-wow features the best in Native American arts, crafts, food, dance, drumming and education. The deadline to register is Wednesday, Nov. 1. Transportation will be provided and admission is covered.

Faculty Success Program Grant Deadline Approaching

The Office of Faculty Affairs offers four grants to fund VCU faculty participation in the Faculty Success Program during the spring 2018 semester and five grants for the summer 2018 FSP program. Breast Cancer Survivor Study Invitation

Many breast cancer survivors have difficulty taking their hormonal medication as recommended and we would like to find out why. If you are a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed at least 2 years ago, you stopped taking your hormonal medication before the 5 year end date, and English is your first language, we would like to invite you to be a participant in a 1.5 hour focus group. Compensation will be offered. VCU IRB Approval No. HM20009228.
