The Division for Inclusive Excellence offers two Building Inclusive Communities (BIC) workshops this month for faculty, administrators and staff on Monday, Feb. 26, and Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the University Student Commons, Richmond Salons. BIC supports the university community in creating an engaged, diverse and inclusive campus environment. Workshop goals include understanding historically marginalized and privileged group dynamics; learning to identify and avoid behavioral traps that contribute to cycles of inequity; and creating a personal plan for changing inequitable behaviors and practices. VCU Master Plan Public Presentations

The VCU Master Plan team has spent the last four months engaging a large cross-section of the VCU and Richmond community to develop an environmental scan of the campus. On Tuesday, Feb. 27, and Wednesday, Feb. 28, the Master Plan team will give public presentations that summarize the existing opportunities and challenges for both campuses and the high-level themes that will serve as the foundation for the Design Phase of the project that will take place this spring. The presentations, which will all contain the same information, are an opportunity to learn more about the Master Plan process, see the results of your feedback to date, and ask questions of the Master Plan team. The public presentations will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Kontos Medical Sciences Building Auditorium (a live webcast of this presentation will be streamed on VCU's Facebook page, go.vcu.edu/vcufacebook), and from 6-7 p.m. in the Temple Building, Room 1164; on Wednesday, Feb. 28, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Temple Building, Room 1160.

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Sea Kayaking Spring Break Trip

The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program offers a spring break trip to Everglades National Park, the largest sub-tropical wilderness in the United States. This is a great introductory trip for those looking to learn about sea kayaking, and there will be lots of opportunities for wildlife viewing and stargazing. Trip fee will be $495 for students/faculty/staff and $595 for members. Includes transportation to and from south Florida, food, equipment, permits and instruction.

The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program hosts climbing clinics this semester at the Cary Street Gym Climbing Wall. These clinics will include a Climbing Technique Clinic on Thursday, Feb. 15; a Sport Climbing Clinic on Monday, Feb. 19; a Trad Climbing Clinic on Wednesday, Feb. 21; and a Rappelling Clinic on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
