Student Accessibility and Educational Opportunity (SAEO) presents the Student Accessibility Conference in the University Student Commons Theater. Over a series of four, one-hour sessions, experts from across the VCU community will present a general overview of disabilities, mental health and wellness at the university; pertinent information on emotional support animals and service dogs on campus; strategies and tips for making classrooms and materials accessible to all students; and making online content accessible.

Chili’s at VCU Hosts Official Men’s Basketball Away Game Watch Parties
Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at 9 p.m.
This February, Chili's at VCU hosts the official Men's Basketball watch parties. Fans can catch the HAVOC live on each of Chilis' nine TVs as the team takes on University of Richmond on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 9 p.m.; George Washington on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m.; and Massachusetts on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. There will be food specials including the $5 game-day burger and attendees are encouraged to wear VCU gear for free giveaways and prizes. 'Frankenstein Dissected: Twenty-First-Century Legacies of a Nineteenth-Century Classic'

The Life and Work of Richard Carlyon

VCU Libraries and the ICA look back at the celebrated and influential artist and VCU faculty member, Richard Carlyon (1930-2006), in a one-night program and art showing featuring some of his multimedia creations in Cabell Library, Lecture Hall. The event, held in conjunction with a retrospective exhibit at the Reynolds Gallery, marks the recent acquisition of Carylon's papers and digital works by VCU Libraries. Refreshments will be served. Spades Tournament

'The Future of U.S.–Pakistan Relations'

The VCU Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program and World Affairs Council of Greater Richmond will host a conversation with His Excellency Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the United States in the VCUArts Depot. VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program: Adaptive Climbing with Sportable
The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program is working with Sportable to host Adaptive Climbing Clinics. The clinics provide indoor rock climbing experiences to members of the community with physical and visual disabilities. Volunteer training will be held at the Cary Street Gym Climbing Wall on Thursday, Jan. 25, from 7-9 p.m. The first Adaptive Climbing Clinic of the semester will be held on Friday, Feb. 2.

VCU Recreational Sports: Personal Training
VCU Recreational Sports offers personal training to all students and members. Certified personal trainers create customized exercise programs to meet participants' needs and specific goals. Rec Sports trainers can help clients lose weight, build muscle, train for a competition, or recover from injuries. Sessions are available at the Cary Street Gym and MCV Campus Recreation Center in one-on-one and partner training packages of three, six, 12, or 18 one-hour-long sessions.

Weight Watchers: 'Inspire' Open House Meetings
Weight Watchers holds on-campus meetings during the "Inspire" event to held from Feb. 5-23. Those who join during the "Inspire" event will receive a free starter kit ($70 value). Both on-campus meetings are held on Tuesdays. The MCV Campus meetings are held beginning with the weigh-ins at 11 a.m. in the Hunton Student Center. Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences launches a new series, "Technology Tuesdays," that showcases Innovative Media programs and free library resources and expertise on the MCV Campus. "Technology Tuesdays" run from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and are held in Tompkins-McCaw Library, on the second floor Lecture Room.
