Campus Sustainability Day Film Screening
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
In celebration of Campus Sustainability Day, the Office of Sustainability hosts a screening and discussion of the documentary, "Clothes to Die For," on Thursday, Sept. 28, from 2-4 p.m. in Grace and Broad Residence Center 2, Room 1227; and from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Pollak Building, Room 221. Attendees will explore how the fashion industry impacts sustainability and the environment.
'Being a VCU RAM: By-Stander Intervention Training'
3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Student Conduct and Academic Integrity and The Well present "Being a VCU RAM: Bystander Intervention Training" in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Participants will learn strategies for intervening in a variety of situations and how to get the help they need. Light refreshments will be provided.

Green Unity for VCU hosts Ryan Owenby, Owenby Organics, to discuss the ease of composting at home in the University Student Commons, Virginia Room B.

The Office of Sustainability hosts its annual campus sustainability day on the Commons Plaza. There will be food, giveaways, a craft workshop, sustainability information and several local vendors on site.
Banjo Masters: John Bullard and Adam Larrabee

The Department of Music presents banjo masters, John Bullard and Adam Larrabee, in the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 for students.

Virginia21 hosts a question-and-answer session with the policy director from the Ed Gillespie campaign for governor in the University Student Commons, Virginia Room A. Higher education policies, college affordability and millennial-based issues will be discussed. Attendees will enjoy pizza and refreshments while having the opportunity to become informed voters.
Global Café
Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017 from noon to 2:30 p.m.
The Global Education Office invites all members of the university community to its monthly Global Café in the University Student Commons, Virginia Rooms A-D. Attendees will experience a variety of cuisines and cultures from around the world. This student-centered program is designed to increase awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity at VCU. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet students from across the globe. Each café has a different theme and refreshments are always served. Everyone is welcome at this free event.

Outdoor Adventure Program: 'No Man's Land Film Festival'

The Outdoor Adventure Program presents the "No Man's Land Film Festival," featuring a collection of short adventure films, in the Temple Building, Room 1164. The festival travels worldwide, year-round to share a selection of best-loved films from the festival archives as well as brand new films featuring the most driven and inspired female adventurers. Building Inclusive Communities Workshops in October: Registration Open
The Division for Inclusive Excellence invites faculty, administrators and staff to Building Inclusive Communities (BIC) workshops this fall. Five workshops will be offered between Oct. 3-20. Seating is limited and advanced registration is required. BIC supports the university community in creating an engaged, diverse and inclusive campus environment. Workshop goals include understanding historically marginalized and privileged group dynamics; learning to identify and avoid behavioral traps that contribute to cycles of inequality; and creating a personal plan for changing inequitable behaviors and practices. VCU Rec Sports Adult Swim Lessons
VCU Rec Sports Aquatics offers adult swim lessons that allow beginner, intermediate and advanced swimmers to build on their skills. To participate at either the MCV Campus Aquatic Center or the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center's swim lessons, register by Sunday, Oct. 22. Classes are $40 for students, $50 for members and $90 for non-members.
