Caps, Gowns and Hoods for December Commencement

December Commencement exercises take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, in the E.J. Wade Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. Students participating in the ceremony must wear caps, gowns and hoods. Academic regalia is available for purchase at the Barnes & Noble @ VCU beginning Tuesday, Oct. 10, on the Monroe Park and MCV campuses. Those unable to visit a campus store may order online at vcu.shopoakhalli.com beginning Thursday, Oct. 12. The last day to order online is Sunday, Nov. 26. Caps and gowns will not be available for purchase at the Commencement ceremony.

SGA 'Ramsgiving'

This Thanksgiving, the Student Government Association encourages the VCU community to celebrate the season by donating non-perishable food items to the inaugural partnership between the City of Richmond and the VCU SGA, "Ramsgiving." "Ramsgiving" is a two-week, campus-wide donation drive from Nov. 6-20. Beneficiaries of the collected non-perishable food items are RamPantry, FeedMore of Richmond and local community public housing.

VCU Health Orchestra: Seeking Musicians

Like many medical campuses across the country, VCU Health now has an orchestra for all VCU Health team members, medical students and pre-med field students. The orchestra is seeking additional experienced musicians who are excited about practicing and performing together. The Chamber Orchestra including strings, winds, brass, and conductor Rondy Lazaro, will meet Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. on the second floor of the Main Hospital Cafeteria.

Research Opportunity

Are you a woman in menopause experiencing anxiety? Would you like to talk about your experiences? Researchers at the VCU School of Nursing are interested in learning more about women’s health in menopause. Participation in this qualitative study would involve a face to face interview (approximately 1 hour) to discuss your personal experience with anxiety in menopause. The interview will be audio recorded and will take place at a location convenient to you. You will receive a gift card to a local business for participation in the study.
