Amnesty International at VCU: Bake Sale
12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Amnesty International at VCU holds a bake sale on Thursday, Oct. 26, from noon to 3 p.m. behind Harris Hall and on Friday, Oct. 27, from noon to 3 p.m. outside of Cabell Library to raise funds for the organization. There will be treats of all varieties, including vegan. The organization fights for human rights locally and globally.
'Indigenous Health in Brazil'
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs hosts "Indigenous Health in Brazil" in the University Student Commons, Room 215. Zaira Zambelli Taveira, D.D.S., obtained her dentistry degree from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. As a Humphrey fellow, Taveira wants to advance her knowledge related to indigenous health policy and its management.
VCU Music: Clarinet Studio Recital II
7 p.m.
VCU Music's Clarinet Studio presents a recital in the James W. Black Music Center, Recital Hall. Admission is free.

'Can We Survive Mainstreaming? Trans Politics and Criminal Punishment Reform'
7 p.m.
The Department of Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies, the Humanities Research Center and the Division for Inclusive Excellence present a lecture by Dean Spade, "Can We Survive Mainstreaming? Trans Politics and Criminal Punishment Reform," at the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Muevelo at VCU: Hip Hop Workshop
7 p.m.
Muevelo at VCU's Hip Hop team holds a workshop in West Grace Street Student Housing-South, Room 1004, for participants to learn dance moves and choreography. The "Thriller" moves will be taught during this workshop. All levels of expertise are welcome.
Fall Block Stroll-Off
8 p.m.
The Fall Block Step Show Committee hosts the annual Stroll-Off on the University Student Commons Plaza. The competition features teams from the National Panhellenic Council at VCU fraternities and sororities. The event will feature the Stroll-Off in addition to opportunities to win prizes and tickets.
'Queer Comedy Night'
8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs presents "Queer Comedy Night" in the University Student Commons, Virginia Room B. The event will feature four Richmond comedians, Katherine Malone, Patrick Miller, Kate Carroll and Mary Jane French. The comedians will share their experiences by using humor.

Students Helping Honduras: Thrift SHHop
Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Students Helping Honduras holds a Thrift Shop from Oct. 25-26 on the University Student Commons Plaza. Used clothing and other items will be available for sale and all proceeds will go directly to building a school in Honduras.

Visiting Artist Talk: Elle Pérez
Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 at 3 p.m.
The Graduate Arts Association hosts Elle Pérez in the Fine Arts Building, Third Floor Fishbowl. Pérez’s photographic practice explores the erotics of underground communities and marginal spaces and identities. Pérez holds degrees from the Maryland Institute College of Art and Yale School of Art. Originally from the Bronx, New York, Pérez currently teaches photography at Harvard University, the Rhode Island School of Design, and is a dean at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
United2Heal Warehouse Volunteering
Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
United2Heal seeks volunteers to help sort medical supplies to donate to areas in need. The warehouse is located at 2601 Maury St., Unit #31. Rides will be provided if needed at the Commons loops at 2:50 p.m.
CCM Haunted House
Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Catholic Campus Ministry holds its fourth annual Haunted House at 823 Cathedral Place. Attendees will journey through the mind of a twisted scientist and encounter the results of his mad experiments. The cost for entry is $2 or a canned good. All proceeds will benefit RamPantry. There will be a free bonfire with s'mores at the end of the haunted house. All are welcome.
October Model UN Mock Conference
Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Model United Nations and VCU Political Science holds a mock conference in West Grace Street Student Housing-South, Room 1004H. There will be a discussion on nuclear missile launches from North Korea and its effects on the global community. Admission is free and open to all.
The Robinson Guitar Duo
Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 at 4 p.m.
The Department of Music presents the Robinson Guitar Duo in the W.E. Singleton Center for Performing Arts, Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Over the past 19 years, the Robinson Guitar Duo has performed extensively with the Latin Ballet of Virginia, as well as at the first Alexandria Guitar Festival, The Gellman Room, Glen Allen Cultural Arts Center and Center Stage. Faculty/Staff Contacts in Student Google Directory
Beginning on Thursday, Oct. 26, faculty and staff email addresses and directory information will be available in the student Google Global Directory for students to view and select. Previously, only student addresses were available. Students will be able to use the type ahead when addressing email in Gmail to find faculty/staff email addresses. Faculty and staff contacts will also be found in the Google Contact app under Directory.
RamRide: Express Route Discontinues Service Oct. 31
To accommodate the growing RamRide ridership and improve route efficiency, the Campus Connector Express route will be discontinued at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31. The former Express bus will be incorporated back into the Campus Connector route, for a total of five buses servicing passengers during the weekday business hours, beginning Wednesday, Nov. 1. Emerging Leaders in Interprofessional Education: Nominations Accepted
The Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Care seeks nominations of students and junior faculty with demonstrated excellence in interprofessional leadership. Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of interprofessional faculty, and selectees will be recognized and may be asked to participate on the Emerging Leaders panel at the sixth annual Emswiller Interprofessional Symposium on Saturday, Feb. 3. Self-nominations are encouraged and accepted. Nominations are accepted until close of business on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
