'Condoms and Candy Kiosk'
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Wellness Resource Center presents the "Condoms and Candy Kiosk" in front of The Well. Participants can swing by to pick up goody bags of condoms and candy, participate in condom demonstrations, and have conversations about safer sex.
Spooky Fun: Green Screen Halloween Photo Shoot
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
VCU Libraries invites the community to get in the spirit of Halloween at Cabell Library and get their ghostly portraits taken in the lower-level workshop video studio. Halloween Treats from VCUDine
11 a.m.
VCUDine hands out special treats and Pepsi products on Halloween starting at 11 a.m. in front of Shafer Court Dining Center. Also, Halloween-themed foods will be available in Market 810 all day. The VCU community is encouraged to wear costumes and join VCUDine for a fun day celebrating Halloween. Follow @VCUDine on social media for more details.
VCU Master Site Plan: Provide Input at Informal Session
11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
VCU has launched a new university Master Site Plan, which will guide university development for the next decade, and invites the university community to provide input at an informal session in Cabell Library, First Floor Lobby OR in the University Student Commons, First Floor near the food court.

VCU Qatar Meet and Greet Majilis at MCV Campus
11:30 a.m. to 01:30 p.m.
The School of the Arts hosts a mix and mingle with students from its campus in Doha, Qatar, who are visiting the Richmond campus for one week as part of the VCU Qatar Leadership Exchange Program. The majlis will be set up on 12th St. between Broad and Marshall streets. A majlis is considered a space to receive visitors and offer them hospitality. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience Qatari culture, complete with the offerings of karak (tea), baklava and other traditional Qatari foods.
Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming [TGNC] Support Group
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Well offers a transgender and gender non-conforming support group every Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. throughout the fall semester. This group is for all students who identify within the transgender/non-binary spectrum and/or questioning their gender. Registration is required by emailing the email address below.
Film Screening: 'La Santa Muerte: A Folk Saint in Texas'
5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The School of World Studies and the Bishop Walter F. Sullivan Chair in Catholic Studies presents a film screening of "La Santa Muerte: A Folk Saint in Texas" in the Temple Building, Room 1164. Producer Charlie Lockwood and VCU professor Andrew Chestnut will hold a question-and-answer session after the film. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Information Session: Peace Corps 'Voices from the Field'
6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
VCU Career Services and the Peace Corps present "Voices from the Field" in the University Student Commons, Alumni Board Room. Attendees will hear from a VCU alumni Peace Corps volunteer currently at work around the world and learn more about what it's like to be a Peace Corps member day-to-day. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions about service, learn steps to take to improve chances and gain valuable tips to guide them through the application process.

Qatar Day

Objects + Methods Lecture Series: Dafi Kühne

VCUarts Department of Graphic Design presents its Objects + Methods Lecture Series featuring Dafi Kühne, graphic designer / letterpress printmaker from Zürich + Glarus, Switzerland, in Hibbs Hall, Room 403. Since 2009, Kühne has been working full-time in his studio «babyinktwice» designing and printing posters, invitation cards, brochures and magazines for music, art, architecture, theatre and film projects. VCUarts Objects + Methods is a free public lecture series by the Department of Graphic Design.

Barnes & Noble @ VCU and Students Today Alumni Tomorrow (STAT), the student branch of VCU Alumni, host the 2017 "Barnes & Noble Blackout," an after-hours party featuring talent and all forms of entertainment from VCU and the Richmond Community, as well as samplings from local restaurants, at the Barnes & Noble @ VCU. This event is open to all VCU students. STAT members will receive 20% off VCU gear. There will be an opportunity to join STAT at this event.
'Gilded Age Richmond: The Grit Behind the Glitz'

'Islamic Art: Past, Present and Future?'

VCUarts co-sponsors the seventh Biennial Hamad bin Khalifa Symposium on Islamic Art from Nov. 2-4, at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, 200 N. Boulevard. Symposium speakers include HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, the contemporary artists Lalla Essaydi, Shahzia Sikander and Hassan Hajjaj, and some of the leading curators, collectors and leaders in the field of contemporary Islamic art.

International Education Week Film Screening: 'To Live'

In celebration of the upcoming International Education Week, the Global Education Office presents "To Live," the first in a three-part film series, in the University Student Commons Theater. Banned in China, this award-winning film captures the struggles and tragedies of an impoverished Chinese family, spanning the 1940s Chinese civil war through the cultural revolution of the '60s and '70s. The screening will be followed by discussion.

'Mini-Medical Family Day'

University Student Commons and Activities: MCV Campus programs invites the VCU community and their families to a big event filled with mini-medical fun at the Larrick Student Center. 'Great SEXpectations: Can We Get Freaky Tonight?'

This fun and informative play-shop from Sex Educators will help remove sexual stigmas and taboos about self-pleasure, fetish sex and kink sex. Caps, Gowns and Hoods for December Commencement
December Commencement exercises take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, in the E.J. Wade Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. Students participating in the ceremony must wear caps, gowns and hoods. Academic regalia is available for purchase at the Barnes & Noble @ VCU beginning Tuesday, Oct. 10, on the Monroe Park and MCV campuses. Those unable to visit a campus store may order online at vcu.shopoakhalli.com beginning Thursday, Oct. 12. The last day to order online is Sunday, Nov. 26. Caps and gowns will not be available for purchase at the Commencement ceremony.

VCU Rec Sports OAP: Weekly Climbing Clinics
VCU Rec Sports OAP offers courses such as sport climbing, trad climbing, anchor building, aid climbing, top rope rescue, multi-pitch transitions, climbing technique and rappelling. For all clinic offerings, find the Outdoor Adventure Program calendar online or at the kiosk in front of the climbing wall at the Cary Street Gym.
