The Department of Psychiatry presents Grand Rounds with Eric J. Engstrom, Ph.D., Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany, speaking on the topic of "Reassessing Emil Kraepelin (1856 - 1926): Reflections on an Historical Research Project" in Sanger Hall, Room 1-044. All faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend this presentation.
VCU Music's Holiday Gala
Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at 7 p.m.
VCU Music presents its annual Holiday Gala in the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. This holiday concert will benefit The Doorways, formerly Richmond's Hospital Hospitality House, and will feature VCU's Jazz Orchestra II, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the Commonwealth Singers, the Guitar Ensembles and other VCU ensembles. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under.

VCU Global Zone Training
Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 from 9 a.m. to noon
The Global Education Office hosts VCU Global Zone training in Grace Street Center, Room 3127, for faculty and advisers to learn and discuss best practices for working with international students. Topics will include personal cultural awareness, culturally responsive teaching, academic integrity and international students. Rams in Recovery: 'Take a Break, Save a Life Naloxone Training'
Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Rams in Recovery conducts a Naloxone training on campus in the University Student Commons, Forum Room, for students and faculty. Naloxone is a drug that reverses the effects of an opiate overdose, which is now the number one cause of accidental death in the country. The training will cover how to use Naloxone on a person who has overdosed and offer hands-on practice.

RamAway: Accepting Reservations Through Dec. 8
For those needing a ride back home for winter break, RamAway provides free transportation for faculty, staff and students during designated holidays and semester breaks to and/or from the Richmond International Airport, Greyhound Bus Station and Amtrack at Main Street Station and Staples Mill Road. VCU RamBikes Rental Location Moving
VCU's RamBikes bicycles will be moved from Cabell and Tompkins-McCaw libraries during winter break. The final day patrons can borrow RamBikes from VCU Libraries is Friday, Dec. 8. Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 3, users can borrow bikes from the RamBikes shop, located at 201 N. Belvidere St. Rentals are free for students, faculty and staff and the checkout period will be 72 hours. Rental hours starting Jan. 3 will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Bike Shop
The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program has a bike shop, which is a free resource available to VCU students, faculty, and staff. Bike repair workshops as well as one-on-one instruction by trained bike mechanics are available. The bike shop is located in the Outing Rental Center, 130 S. Linden St., across the street from the Cary Street Gym.

2018 MLK Celebration Week: Submit Events
The Division for Inclusive Excellence sponsors the fifth annual MLK Celebration Week from Jan. 15-21. The MLK Celebration Week Planning Committee invites the VCU community to submit service and educational events for inclusion on the MLK Week website by visiting the website below. New runners training program.
The VCU RUN LAB invites you to participate in a beginner running program, as a part of a research study. Participants will receive a 16-week program (beginning in January) to prepare for a 5km race, attend weekly group training sessions at Lucky Road Willow Lawn, and visit the VCU RUN LAB 3 times for running analysis. To be eligible, you must be aged 18-60, have never run regularly, and be healthy enough to participate in physical activity. For more information please contact harrisonk3@vcu.edu.
