MCV Campus Recreation Center Facility Temporarily Closed
The MCV Campus Recreation and Aquatic Center will be closed through Monday, Jan. 22, due to a major HVAC system leak in the facility. Repairs are expected to continue through Monday, Jan. 22, and the facility is tentatively expected to reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 23. This is subject to change. All programs at the MCV Campus Recreation Center are canceled through Jan. 22. The Larrick Student Center remains open, including Jonah's, the meeting/dining area and all conference rooms. The University Student Commons and Activities sponsors the Student Organization Fair in the University Student Commons, Second Floor. Participants will learn more about how to get involved at VCU.
VCUDine 'Fit Friday: Get Your Plate into Shape'
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
VCUDine hosts a "Fit Friday" event in Shafer Court Dining Center. This educational event will feature Erin Thornton, campus registered dietitian, showing students how to build a healthy and balanced plate. Students who share a photo of their healthy plate on Instagram using the hashtag #MyVCUPlate will be entered to win a fitness bag. For details, follow @VCU_Dining on social media.

Inter Health Professionals Alliance: 'Management, Entrepreneurship, and the Future of Health Care'
12 p.m. to 12:50 p.m.
The Inter Health Professional's Alliance (IHPA) invites students to attend its January Educate then Advocate session with Nengliang (Aaron) Yao, Ph.D., who will speak about management, entrepreneurship and the future of health care in Sanger Hall, Room 2-020. Yao is an assistant professor at University of Virginia whose research interests include health policy and administration concerns around homebound cancer patients, in addition to teaching various health administration topics.
Christ Centered Fellowship: Welcoming Event
5:30 p.m.
Christ Centered Fellowship hosts a welcoming event in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Free food and activities will be provided. Attendees will enjoy a meet-and-greet and getting to know the fellowship.
'Bring Back the Summer Party'
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship presents a "Bring Back the Summer Party" at Commonwealth Chapel, 1836 Park Ave. Attendees will enjoy limbo, snacks, friends and Paul the Palm Tree. Those interested in attending can meet on the Compass at 6:30 p.m. and walk over to Commonwealth Chapel together.

Trans Social Club Hangout
Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Trans Social Club welcomes transgender individuals to its first social meet of spring 2018 in the University Student Commons, Second Floor, Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. Attendees will enjoy free snacks, conversation and networking. The Trans Social Club is open to all individuals who do not fully identify with the gender they were assigned at birth and meets every Sunday at 2 p.m.

SAVES is a peer education group on campus speaking and raising awareness on the topics of sexual assault, intimate partner violence and stalking.

'Advance Your Research': Citation Management Tools Changing

In 2018, VCU Libraries will retire RefWorks. To get ready for the change, the libraries have planned a group of webinars for spring. "Goodbye RefWorks: Exploring Other Citation Management Tools" will help participants discover new citation options and determine the one to suit their research and documentation needs. This session gives an overview of Mendeley, Zotero and EndNote, and shows how to save RefWorks citations.

Arab Engineers Organization Soccer Tournament
Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at 2 p.m.
The Arab Engineers Organization hosts a soccer tournament at the Cary Street Gym. The winners will receive $140 and medals with the second place team members earning medals as well. The cost is $35 per team. Registration ends on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program: Road Bike Rides and Group Hikes
The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program hosts free weekly clinics. Road bike rides occur every Wednesday from Jan. 24 to April 25, and allow members to explore the Richmond area by bike. Helmets and bikes are supplied. Group hikes occur every Thursday from Jan. 25 to April 26, and take members from the VCU campus on various trails, some of which in the James River Park System. Registration is ongoing through the semester.
