The VCU Graduate Arts Association presents Rachel Meginnes for an artist lecture at The Depot.
Film Screening: 'The Way of All Flesh'
12:10 p.m. to 1 p.m.
VCU Libraries and University Student Commons and Activities invite the VCU community to bring lunch to a film screening and discussion of "The Way of All Flesh" in the Hunton Student Center, TML Learning Center, Room 209. This BBC documentary looks at how Henrietta Lacks' "immortal cell line" impacted cancer research and how her family finally found out. A brief discussion on medical ethics will follow the film.
'Frankenstein Dissected: Twenty-First-Century Legacies of a Nineteenth-Century Classic'

The Humanities Research Center, Department of English and the STS Program present "Frankenstein Dissected: Twenty-First-Century Legacies of a Nineteenth-Century Classic" in Cabell Library, Second Floor Multipurpose Room, as part of its spring 2018 speaker series. A roundtable with preliminary comments by three guests, followed by conversation with the audience featuring Susan Lederer, Ed Finn, and Catherine Ingrassia. Admission is free and all are welcome.

VCU Music and the Greater Richmond Bar Foundation present the fourth annual "Jazz 4 Justice" in the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Proceeds from this benefit concert directly support pro bono legal representation for low income individuals and families, veterans and nonprofits in central Virginia, as well as scholarships for students in the VCU Jazz Studies program. 'The Impact of Recent Legislation Changes on Immigrant Communities'
Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
In recent months, there have been several changes in legislation regarding the status of immigrants in the U.S., including those related to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protection Status (TPS). The Division of Inclusive Excellence sponsors a panel in West Grace Street Student Housing-North, Room 1030J, holding an informed discussion about the motivations behind legislation changes, as well as the dramatic impact the changes are having on immigrant communities. Tanya Gonzalez, executive director, Sacred Heart Center, and Phil Storey, attorney, Legal Aid Justice Center. Free and open to the public.

President Michael Rao has approved the 2018 Quest Commercialization Fund awards. Her Campus at VCU Presents 'Her Purse'
Her Campus at VCU is collecting gently used purses and toiletries for women in need in order to support Dress for Success of Central Richmond. Things specifically needed are unscented lotions, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, nail polish, pocket tissues, wipes, sanitary napkins, tampons and deodorants. Donations will be collected on Monday, Feb. 19, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the University Student Commons, Metro Room, and on Friday, March. 16, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the University Student Commons Lobby.
