VCU Master Plan Public Presentation
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The VCU Master Plan team has spent the last four months engaging a large cross-section of the VCU and Richmond community to develop an environmental scan of the campus. A public meeting will be held in the Kontos Medical Sciences Building Auditorium to summarize the existing opportunities and challenges for both campuses and the high-level themes that will serve as the foundation for the Design Phase of the project that will take place this spring. A live webcast of this presentation will be streamed on VCU's Facebook page, go.vcu.edu/vcufacebook. The presentation is an opportunity to learn more about the Master Plan process, see the results of community feedback to date, and ask questions of the Master Plan team.

'Tech Tuesday: Academic Poster Design'

VCU Libraries Innovative Media department invites the VCU community to "Tech Tuesdays" at Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences, Room 2-010. Participants will learn how to make posters eye-catching, legible and not at all boring with hands-on demonstrations of library technology resources, services and workspaces.

'Effects of Sea Level Rise on Microbial Communities in Tidal Freshwater Wetlands'
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The Department of Forensic Sciences hosts guest speaker, Rima Franklin, Ph.D., interim chair, Forensic Science, as part of its Forensic Science Graduate Seminar in Harris Hall, Room 2129. She will discuss "Effects of Sea Level Rise on Microbial Communities in Tidal Freshwater Wetlands." Admission is free and all are welcome.
Flute Studio Recital: 'From Around the World'
6 p.m.
VCU Music's Flute Studio presents a recital "From Around the World" in the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Flutists from Tabatha Easley’s studio will perform works from around the globe with pieces from Japan, Ireland, Germany, Russia, Puerto Rico, Canada and South America. Admission is free.

VCU Libraries' Workshop and Innovative Media team offer "Zine Show and Swap" on the lower level of Cabell Library. Attendees can bring their own zines to show and trade or see what others are making. This event will feature zines from local makers and the library's special collections.

Chili's at VCU hosts the official Men's Basketball watch party as they take on Fordham. New look for Google Calendar and Resources
Google has redesigned the web calendar including a redesign of conference room (resource) scheduling. Since November, Google's new calendar has been available to all users. On February 28, all users will be moved to the new calendar when Google removes access to the old design. Calendar sharing to those outside the VCU domain will also be available.

VCU Recreational Sports: Spring Intramural Sports
VCU Recreational Sports offers intramural sports tournaments and intramural sports leagues that begin in March. Tournament registration for three-point contest ends on Sunday, March 4; and 11v11 soccer on Saturday, March 10. Registration for 4v4 flag football, dodgeball and softball leagues ends on Sunday, March 10.

Time to Order Regalia for May Commencement
Virginia Commonwealth University's May Commencement exercises take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, at the Richmond Coliseum, 601 E. Leigh St. Faculty participating in the ceremony will wear academic apparel. Regalia must be ordered by Friday, April 13.

VCU Recreational Sports: Rice Rivers Center Nature Camp
The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program is partnering with the Rice Rivers Center to host a brand new summer day camp. Campers will spend five days exploring nature at the Rice Center and navigating tidal creeks and the James River in canoes. This will be during the day only and a shuttle from the university will be available if needed. The summer day camp dates are June 25-29, July 16-20, and July 30-3. Registration ends on Thursday, May 10.

VCU Wellness Block Party: Volunteers Needed
The Student Government Association seeks volunteers for the 11th annual Wellness Block Party on Saturday, March 24, from 1-4 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, 1000 Mosby St. During the fair, health screenings will be performed and there will be fun activities for the community to raise awareness of healthy choices and provide health education.

Now Recruiting for TEENS STRIVE Weight Management Program
The program is offered by Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU and includes weekly individual behavioral weight management visits for teens that cover topics including healthy eating and goal-setting, plus an exercise training program. STRIVE participants will visit the program’s dedicated gym facilities three times a week where they will work with personal trainers to improve their fitness.
