New look for Google Calendar and Resources

Google has redesigned the web calendar including a redesign of conference room (resource) scheduling. Since November, Google's new calendar has been available to all users. On February 28, all users will be moved to the new calendar when Google removes access to the old design. Calendar sharing to those outside the VCU domain will also be available.

VCU Recreational Sports: Spring Intramural Sports

VCU Recreational Sports offers intramural sports tournaments and intramural sports leagues that begin in March. Tournament registration for three-point contest ends on Sunday, March 4; and 11v11 soccer on Saturday, March 10. Registration for 4v4 flag football, dodgeball and softball leagues ends on Sunday, March 10.

VCU Recreational Sports: Rice Rivers Center Nature Camp

The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program is partnering with the Rice Rivers Center to host a brand new summer day camp. Campers will spend five days exploring nature at the Rice Center and navigating tidal creeks and the James River in canoes. This will be during the day only and a shuttle from the university will be available if needed. The summer day camp dates are June 25-29, July 16-20, and July 30-3. Registration ends on Thursday, May 10.

VCU Wellness Block Party: Volunteers Needed

The Student Government Association seeks volunteers for the 11th annual Wellness Block Party on Saturday, March 24, from 1-4 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, 1000 Mosby St. During the fair, health screenings will be performed and there will be fun activities for the community to raise awareness of healthy choices and provide health education.

Now Recruiting for TEENS STRIVE Weight Management Program

The program is offered by Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU and includes weekly individual behavioral weight management visits for teens that cover topics including healthy eating and goal-setting, plus an exercise training program. STRIVE participants will visit the program’s dedicated gym facilities three times a week where they will work with personal trainers to improve their fitness.
