Student Issue for January 17, 2018

Special Announcement

Monthly Siren Test

VCU will conduct the monthly siren test at noon today, Jan. 17. Monthly siren tests are typically conducted on the first Wednesday of each month; this test was rescheduled from Jan. 3 for maintenance on the system. The monthly siren test involves a one-minute siren activation using a steady or even tone for the sirens located on the Monroe Park and MCV campuses. In an actual life-threatening emergency, the sirens will be activated for four minutes to warn people external to VCU facilities that there is an immediate risk to the area. There is no "all clear" siren as that information is distributed via the other VCU Alert technologies.
