Student Issue for January 23, 2018
Special Announcement
Siren Maintenance and Testing Continues
On Wednesday, Jan. 24, VCU will continue to repair and test the university’s siren system. Due to the nature of this maintenance, testing is required outside of the regularly scheduled monthly siren test. Multiple siren activations may occur throughout the day and VCU Police will make every effort to announce them ahead of time with VCU Alert text and LiveSafe messages. VCU Police will also send out text and LiveSafe messages once testing is complete. In a real emergency, VCU relies on multiple forms of emergency communications, including text and LiveSafe messages, Alertus boxes and desktop alerts. A summary of alerting technologies is available on the VCU Alert web page.
