'Improve your Science with Preregistration'

The Office for Research and Innovation and VCU Data Science Lab invite the VCU community to attend the upcoming workshop, "Improve Your Science with Preregistration" in the Larrick Student Center, Court End Ballroom. David Mellor and Ian Sullivan from the Center for Open Science will introduce researchers to the benefits of preregistration. This one-hour workshop will guide participants through creating a first preregistration, followed by a lunch and question session at noon.

'NIH Clinical Trials 2018: New Definition, New Policies'
Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 01 p.m.
The Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research presents the lunchtime research seminar, "NIH Clinical Trials 2018: New Definition, New Policies," in the Main Hospital, Learning Center, across from the cafeteria. The session will include a summary of the NIH-mandated changes to clinical trials policies, provide case studies to demonstrate the expanded clinical trial definition and provide resources for researchers. Participants may bring lunch; drinks will be provided.

Higher Education Advocacy Day

VCU Faculty Senate invites all faculty to participate in Virginia Higher Education Advocacy Day in One Capitol Square, Room 305. This is an annual event in collaboration with colleagues of the Faculty Senate of Virginia and The Virginia Conference of the American Association of University Professors. Participants will visit the offices of state legislators to advocate for our interests and the interests of higher education in the Commonwealth. 'Service Saturday': Volunteer Opportunity with Evergreen and East End Cemeteries
Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Black Graduate Student Association at VCU holds a "Service Saturday" event and offers a volunteer opportunity for the VCU community with the Evergreen and East End Cemetery restoration projects. Evergreen (Evergreen Road, Richmond, 23223) and East End (50 Evergreen Road, Richmond, 23223) cemeteries are the resting place for the nation's most prominent African-American leaders of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Volunteers will remove vegetation and litter while uncovering Richmond history. Volunteers must pre-register for the event by visiting the website below.

Campus Connector Service Interruptions: Jan. 11-13
Nearby events on Cathedral Place will prevent RamRide from servicing the Cabell Library stop on Thursday, Jan. 11, and Friday, Jan. 12. Passengers should proceed to the Main and Laurel stop for service on these dates. Service will resume on Saturday, Jan. 13. Additionally, inauguration ceremonies at the State Capitol on Saturday, Jan. 13, will close portions of the Campus Connector route. As a result, the Campus Connector will operate from 5 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Jan. 13. Normal service will resume on Sunday, Jan. 14.
